#grateful for a day with a difference, posting for my clients in the morning; for a meeting at the Tidal Pool with two Lifesaving managers, after an incident with a very cheeky lifesaver a week ago; for a coriander, chive and spinach plant shop at Starke Ayres, sadly with very poor service from interns, not knowing the difference between lettuce and spinach đŸ˜±; for meeting the management of Dineplan at their offices in Dean Street Arcade in Newlands; for meeting Rose Klein and Hans-Werner Klein for tea/coffee at Harvest CafĂ© in Newlands Quarter đŸŒč, and meeting the owner of Continue reading →

Anatoli launches Mediterranean Tasting Menu, 5 courses at R195, a Taste of Authenticity!

 

Anatoli Mediterranean Restaurant has introduced a new Tasting Menu, offering 5 courses at R195. It offers a Meat/Fish Menu, as well as a Vegetarian alternative.

Long-established Anatoli serves generous portions of authentic Mediterranean foods, including hot and cold magic Mezzes, aromatic main courses, and delicious desserts, all beautifully presented. One can end off one’s Mediterranean dinner with a Turkish coffee and Raki, a Turkish Aperitif.

POPI Act affects every business, including restaurants, every website owner: deadline 30 June!

 

A new word on everyone’s lips is POPIA, short for the Protection of Public Information Act.  Its original deadline was a year ago, and has been extended to 30 June 2021.

Working with restaurant clients, which collect public information when recording Covid-compliant diner temperatures, names, email addresses, and cell phone numbers, it became clear to me that restaurants need to comply with the Act by 1 July, failing which they can face a Fine of up to R10 million. Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a peaceful easygoing day; for it being warmer than the 18C forecast, cloudy with rain forecast for tomorrow and Tuesday; for a Social Media morning; for reading about ‘Nomadland’, tipped to win Best Picture at the Oscars early tomorrow morning, having to go and see it at The Labia; for a lovely coffee ice cream at Unframed on Kloof Street, the World’s Best Ice Cream Parlour; for a quick speed power walk when I got home, just as the sun was setting, beautiful sunsets from Camps Bay Drive and Geneva Drive, lucky to get my 300 Discovery points; for buying two last boxes of figs from Peppertree CafĂ©, the fig season finished now; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
