Sunday 22 November 2020, Day 63 of Level 1, Day 242 of Lockdown . 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a very relaxed day, after sleeping late due to watching German TV too late last night; for a lovely laidback Brunch at Manna Epicure with Vivian Warby, both of us wanting to get out of the Camps Bay busyness; for a walk through Camps Bay, reasonably busy, but the wind picking up sent some visitors packing up and returning home earlier, sadly with litter left behind; for very courteous service by a new cashier at Pick n Pay when I went to buy the Daily Maverick 168; for a long birthday call to my cousin Ulrike Payne in Germany; for a chat with Stuart Bailey, so happy that his new Fat Harry’s restaurant is doing so well; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful sunny day, slightly cooler than yesterday; for a busy writing morning; for a quick walk to Bakoven; for a quick stop at Vivian Warby to bring her the last harvested cauliflower from the garden; for a successful shoot this afternoon for my new client, by Brian Van Hansen; for a quick stop at Woolies Regent Road, and a quick chat with Adrian Lazarus of Bokeh Creative Studio; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Last week I was invited to try some of the dishes at Fat Harry’s, and I invited Eugene van Eck, who lives a block away from the restaurant, to join me for dinner.

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful warm 28C day; for a blood sugar level of 5,6; for a writing and admin-filled day; for a Camps Bay walk, tagging on a Pick n Pay shop to get my copy of Daily Maverick 168, just missing the worst of the queue at the tills; for having been co-opted onto the Camps Bay & Clifton Ratepayers Association committee, looking after the Marketing Portfolio, having served on the committee many moons ago; for attending the first Committee meeting this evening; for dancing to Kfm; for being able to assist Sentech in fixing the Kfm reception (in the car) in our area; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
