Restaurant Review: Homespun by Matt at The Andros – Excellent Food but its story not told!

 

On Friday last week we wanted to spoil Chef Pavel Dimitrov of Zest Restaurant on his birthday, and took him on a surprise trip to Homespun by Matt at The Andros Boutique Hotel in Claremont.  Both Zest and Homespun at The Andros opened in June, a few days apart.

I have experienced two amazing meals at Homespun by Matt in Blouberg, the restaurant which Chef Matt opened seven years ago. I was invited to the Soft Opening of Homespun at The Andros, so I was excited to see the Homespun restaurant settled in and operating smoothly. Continue reading →

Spate of new restaurant openings in Cape Town & Winelands, Greenhouse closure: November 2021

 

With the country at Level 1 for over a month, the restaurant tide is turning, with business in the restaurant industry is improving.

For the first time in a number of months a number of new restaurants are opening in Cape Town and the Winelands, including Rykaarts Stellenbosch, MiCaffé in Bree Street with more restaurants about to open in The Barracks, and in Camps Bay Beach House, Bovine, The Pottery, and Cause & Effect are opening this month.

Since the beginning of Lockdown 19 months ago, 114 new restaurants have opened.

#grateful for a wonderful day after a night of zero noise disturbance 💙; doing some work and then heading out to collect Emma in Pinelands, to start our Southern Suburbs Roadtrip, including tea with Stuart Bailey at The Andros Boutique Hotel, the Black Forest German Butcher, Lime Tree Café, and Collaborate in Fish Hoek, to meet Carina du Randt for tea and the most entertaining reunion, meeting her friend George; for a walk through Kalk Bay, and ending off with a delicious ice cream at Bootlegger in Muizenberg 🍦; for the sun coming out from behind the clouds, giving us a 15C day; Continue reading →
