Saturday 22 January 2022, Day 114 of Level 1 😷

Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for surviving a record-breaking 37C day, the hottest this summer; for my Alex and Patryk arriving safely, spoiling me with two bottles of my favorite ckone and a massive Toblerone; for bumping into my Tourist Guiding lecturer Julie Womack at the airport, also meeting family; for a lovely breakfast at Zest for the hungry boys; for Camps Bay being busy but not as manic as it was two weeks ago, cars parked on Victoria Road at 7h15 already, when I drove to the airport; for our building Continue reading →

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 10 of Level 3, 5 August 2021.

Thursday 5 August 2021, Day 10 of Level 3 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a wonderful day, with more abundance 🙏; for an early breakfast, having to leave 185 on Beach after 2 days of generous spoiling by Jeanette and Richard Loring; for a coffee/tea stop at Fancy Franks in Somerset West, owned by Michael Townsend, meeting GM Duncan Bruce, not having seen each other in years, since we met at Hartford House; for getting to my Harvest Culture Eaterie in the Tyger Waterfront spot on at 11h00, despite a traffic jam on the N2, as a result of a police van having done a somersault and landing on its roof 😱; for being appointed by Harvest Culture to continue with their Social Media after a probationary period 🙏🙏🙏; for having such a Continue reading →

A first taste of Chef Jan-Hendrik’s KLEIN JAN at Tswalu Private Game Reserve!

Jo has given me permission to post some of her photographs, mainly of the interior. I am still missing seeing information and photographs of the dishes served at KLEIN JAN.

Restaurant KLEIN JAN opened at Tswalu in April, to Tswalu guests initially, and since the beginning of May to day visitors too. Continue reading →

Saturday 16 January 2021, Day 20 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 297 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful day after rain overnight, warming up to 23C; for a fragmented sleep of three parts, not enough in total; for a very very long Telegram call of advice with a local, helping me with an issue I’ve been dealing with this week, the quality of the call being excellent, with no reconnections like on What’s App, my first one; for a walk up to Clifton 4th Beach, scoring 200 Discovery points; for a one hour Skype Committee session with my Canadian tour operator, so grateful to be part of this, and seeing a training video they have created for new tourist guides, in which I also feature; for a pop in at my client; for the Loadshedding scheduled for 14h00 not happening, as it would have affected the Skype call; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
