Saturday 16 January 2021, Day 20 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 297 of Lockdown 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a beautiful day after rain overnight, warming up to 23C; for a fragmented sleep of three parts, not enough in total; for a very very long Telegram call of advice with a local, helping me with an issue I’ve been dealing with this week, the quality of the call being excellent, with no reconnections like on What’s App, my first one; for a walk up to Clifton 4th Beach, scoring 200 Discovery points; for a one hour Skype Committee session with my Canadian tour operator, so grateful to be part of this, and seeing a training video they have created for new tourist guides, in which I also feature; for a pop in at my client; for the Loadshedding scheduled for 14h00 not happening, as it would have affected the Skype call; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
My cleaning team did not pitch this morning, disappointing in that they didn’t work due to the rain yesterday, and one of the two not having worked on two days earlier this week either. I was annoyed as I was stuck at home, and received no reply until two hours later from the person who manages them. It gave me time to make the long call, one which I wanted to make earlier this week already. I saw one of the two lying on a bench without a mask when I went on my walk. That made me even madder. She apologized profusely on my way back from my walk up to Clifton, and said that she will be back at work tomorrow. I collected my free copy of Daily Maverick 168 at Pick n Pay. Only one article of interest.
I dropped off the cat carrier at Jo Pentz, grateful for her lending it to me. 💙
In doing the Social Media for Utopia, I interact with clients via Direct Message on Instagram about their bookings. I wanted to meet one such couple this afternoon, as well as a couple representing @capetown.travel with more than 50000 followers, having invited them to try the restaurant. Very nice people. I photographed some other diners, as well as DJ and singer SiAnne, who performed this afternoon and early evening. 🎤
I took a big chance in leaving Minsky and Mr Grey alone together, without separating them. Both are still alive, and there was no hissing from Minsky on my return. I hope that the bonding will happen soon. 😻😻

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, and extended to 15 February on 11 January, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
