Camps Bay Restaurants operating over the Festive Season, many are open right through!

With beaches now allowed to be open until 19h00,  Camps Bay Restaurants are likely to be busy for the next two weeks.

Not all restaurants will be open on Christmas Day or on 1 January, so I have compiled a list of the Camps Bay restaurants, with their trading days.

We wish you and your family safe travelling and beach enjoyment.

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 22 of Level 1, 12 October 2020.:

Monday 12 October 2020, Day 22 of Level 1, Day 200 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for surviving 200 days of Lockdown, the ‘new normal’ of our life; for a beautiful sunny 22C day; for a hardworking writing morning; for harvesting my first cauliflower, and more parsley and nasturtiums, from my Vegetable garden; for a peaceful walk through Camps Bay, noticing only three new car guards today (they take Mondays off, but they forgot to tell us locals, and so all the illegal car guards are back); for posting my SwitchBitch Book 1 to Marianne Busche in Johannesburg via the Aramex courier service at Pick n Pay 🙏; for a second walk through Bakoven; for a chat with Officer Ivor Ramsay at Law Enforcement about persons selling insurance policies on the pavement at the Promenade, which is not allowed; for such a calm ocean; for dancing to Kfm 💃; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Friday 2 October 2020, Day 12 of Level 1, Day 190 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for surviving the gale-force Black South Easter, my only loss being Maya’s sarong, and one of our electric fence panels blowing away; for getting Henry’s help in finding a plastic bucket and basket which blew down the steps, and for fixing some small wind-related issues; for an eventful walk through Camps Bay to see the wind damage at the Beachfront and to report things to fix to Councillor Nicola Jowell’s office; for a quick tea and croissant at Firefly Café, protected from the wind there; for a productive trip into town and Sea Point, surprised at how busy the traffic in town was, compared to past trips during Lockdown; for how clean Bo-Kaap looked when I drove through it; for how love rules, despite Covid and the storm, when I chatted to a bridal couple on my walk ❤️; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Thursday 13 August 2020, Day 74 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful that I got enough sleep, after late Instagramming of my day yesterday, and then waking up at about 5h00, when Jennifer Morris was awake too, and we got into an amazing brainstorm; for being able to get some more sleep, yet having enough time to write my story about dinner at Mozambik last night, a first-time visit for me; for a beautiful sunny day at 17C; for getting the double charge to my credit card back from the DipnDip owner Zakir; for a lovely walk in Camps Bay, seeing Martin Myers at Mynt Café; for a second walk through Bakoven; for dancing the rest of my steps to Kfm’s ‘Wanneer Laas’; for sorting out some problems in the apartment building, as Henry was off sick today; for the litter in Camps Bay being under control; for a short bout of Vit D on the terrace; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
