Thursday 13 August 2020, Day 74 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4. 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful that I got enough sleep, after late Instagramming of my day yesterday, and then waking up at about 5h00, when Jennifer Morris was awake too, and we got into an amazing brainstorm; for being able to get some more sleep, yet having enough time to write my story about dinner at Mozambik last night, a first-time visit for me; for a beautiful sunny day at 17C; for getting the double charge to my credit card back from the DipnDip owner Zakir; for a lovely walk in Camps Bay, seeing Martin Myers at Mynt Café; for a second walk through Bakoven; for dancing the rest of my steps to Kfm’s ‘Wanneer Laas’; for sorting out some problems in the apartment building, as Henry was off sick today; for the litter in Camps Bay being under control; for a short bout of Vit D on the terrace; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
I couldn’t get to write when I wanted to because I had to sort out the glass repair for my storm damage insurance claim at the Hermanus house, the company running late. Then there were parking issues in the building, with some young persons staying in an apartment rented by a parent, so I offered them my extra bay to sweeten things here. And then there was the DipnDip refund request, the owner refusing initially, but then reason set in and he did an immediate payment.
I popped in at the police station to see the detective on the death threat by Michael, the homeless guy, but he wasn’t at the office. I have to go back in the morning.
I took a tough stand with our Sandak-Lewin portfolio manager, being in breach of our contract in two respects. He insists on a 10% fee increase, as they must earn a minimum of Rx, despite our block only having 4 apartments. And I showed him up when I managed to get a supplier to send a quote for a balustrade extension which his office could not achieve. I think I should take over from them when our contract expires at the end of the year. And then there were some hiccups on the Hermanus offer.
In all but one of the above all ended off well today. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.
Interesting to receive two questionnaires today, one from Discovery Vitality (a first in two years!), and from Sanlam.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
