Quentin at Oakhurst Restaurant in Hout Bay turns over a new leaf, now serves Breakfast, Lunch, and Early Dinner!

 

From being a restaurant that mainly served dinners, as well as Sunday Lunch, the latest Level 3 Adjusted regulations have created an opportunity for Quentin at Oakhurst in Hout Bay to open its restaurant for Breakfast, and for Lunch and Early Dinner.

Owner and Executuve Chef Quentin Spickernell has curated two menus, each dish costing under R100. He has also moved the seating outside the restaurant, setting up tables and chairs under a lovely shady oak tree, and under umbrellas on the terrace. Continue reading →

#Grateful for a sunny day, but cooler than most days of the past week; for a Camps Bay walk, stopping at Pick n Pay to buy the Daily Maverick 168; for being driven safely to Hout Bay and back by Johan Prins; for a generous Sunday Roast Lunch at Quentin at Oakhurst Barn, seeing Melanie Davidow briefly for a hello; for a Bakoven walk; for dancing the rest of my step quota to Kfm; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Lifting of alcohol leads to welcome reopening of restaurants which were closed during Levels 3 and 4!

 

While not all restaurants and their diners are happy that the Curfew has not been lifted, they are definitely happy that the alcohol sale ban has been lifted as of Tuesday 18 August.  A host of restaurants at all Levels have announced their reopening for Sit-Down, being restaurants that only offered a Food Delivery and Collection Service, or Restaurants that remained closed since the start of Lockdown on 27 March. However not all restaurants are reopening, some still waiting for the international tourists to arrive back. Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a warmer 18 C day today, lifting my spirits compared to yesterday, and having far more energy as a result; for two Discovery Gameboard plays and gaining over 300 Miles, buying me a voucher and with Miles left over; for a lovely Discovery Health Vitality Check over the phone with Diago, gaining me 2500 points; for being surprised about how much I know about Discovery Vitality, attending their webinar this evening; for a peaceful day; for a walk to Clifton, boosting my heart rate and giving me good Discovery points; for another walk, through Bakoven; for dancing to Kfm; for speaking to my Alex ❤️, wishing we were nearer today; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
