Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a warmer day, but not feeling like the forecast 23C; for a beautiful sunset combined with clouds, making for great photographs; for sleeping off all the horridness of yesterday afternoon, feeling energized and calm and peaceful today; for lunch with Henry at Firefly CafĂ©, which served food for the first time today; for a lovely trip to Regent Road in Sea Point, buying another pair of shorts at PnP Clothing and ordering more; for the surprise discovery of Bokeh Creative Space, a hairdresser/coffee bar opened on Regent Road by Adrian Lazarus last week, he recognizing me as a Facebook Friend (we had never met) and inviting me inside; for buying little treats at Spar and Woolies, the latter enlarged, having added the space of the former Tops; for a gift of five bespoke Kalahari Salts, delivered by Mark McCarthy from Iconic Brands; for another walk to Camps Bay, loving the sunset at the Tidal Pool and a long chat with Law Enforcement Officer Ivor Ramsay; for dancing to Kfm 💃; for hearing from my Camps Bay Clean helper Joel, not having done so in a month, coming back to work tomorrow; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Eat Out Awards 2018: a refreshing change, knocks old-guard chefs off their multi-restaurant perches!

I could not think it possible that the Eat Out Awards 2018 could be so refreshingly different, but it appears that new Head Judge Margot Janse has created a fresh new look at the restaurant judging criteria.
