Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a weather transformation from rain and cold this morning to sunny and warmer this afternoon, accompanied by a mood lift; for a later lie-in, until I had to leave for Sea Point, with a number of chores and treats; for a Vit D dose and doze on my terrace; for a refreshing late afternoon walk in Camps Bay, sounding like one continuous Disco from the Hard Rock CafĂ© down to Mynt, with Tiger’s Milk the busiest of them all; for dancing to the Kfm Blok Party; for seeing so many 💙 clouds today; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Sweet Service Award goes to Discovery Insure; Sour Service Award goes to Out of the Blue!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Discovery Insure, and its Claims Administrator Tovhowani Mufamadi, for the excellent service I received from him in efficiently dealing with my claim for damage caused due to a storm, responding almost immediately to my emails, and keeping me posted during all the steps of the claim process. I had switched to Discovery Insure just two months prior to the storm, but that did not affect my claim. Of all the Discovery staff that I have dealt with telephonically or by email during Lockdown  Tovhowani has been a shining star compared to the other Discovery staff. He received a 10/10 score from me when Discovery sent me a service survey. Continue reading →

Sweet Service Award goes to PnP Clothing; Sour Service Award goes to The Ladder!

The Sweet Service Award goes to PnP Clothing in The Point in Sea Point,  and its staff member Clemenshaw Petersen, who collected two pairs of shorts in my size from their Kenilworth branch on his day off, and brought them to the Sea Point Branch so that I could collect them there. He called me the day before to confirm that he would do so, keeping me informed. The quality of clothing at the clothing store has improved due to a new buyer, and some branches even stock a new Gavin Rajah range. Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for sun, sun, sun, after a misty morning, with a slight chill in the 17C day; for a late sleep in, having written today’s Blogpost last night; for a walk in Camps Bay, making a leg waxing appointment for tomorrow, shopping at Woolies, and collecting discount vouchers from Tindlovu; for learning more about the cost of electricity in our apartment block, after the Power Audit was done; for having the patience in filling in more forms to be registered with CATHSSETA as a Tourist Guide, a challenging career when it comes to all the governmental paperwork prescriptions; for dropping off the forms at the lecturer’s house in Rondebosch, combining it with a number of other stops in the city, including buying my first alcohol in almost six months of Lockdown, having run out of Jameson; for more fantastic service from PnP Clothing in The Point in Sea Point; for a slice of carrot cake and tea and company from the lovely staff member at Bokeh Creative Space, looking forward to dancing there soon Adrian Lazarus; for popping in at Oxalis Eatery to drop off a bottle of ADHARA extra virgin olive oil, with four female owners of the restaurant, which opened in late August; for a half an hour stop at Pilcrow & Cleaver, having a glass of Valley Pinot Noir and a Scallop Ceviche with Orange segments, pine nuts and sultanas, oh wow…; for ending off the day with a first visit to the home of Stuart Bailey, loving my Jameson đŸ„ƒ; for a Discovery Insure Fuel Cashback; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
