Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 36 of Level 1, 5 April 2021.

Monday 5 April 2021, Family Day, Day 36 of Level 1. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a peaceful day; it being a little cooler, and with an extremely strong South Easter blowing this afternoon, dissuading picnickers from coming to Camps Bay today, hence barely any litter; for a lovely lunch with Tania Harrison at Lily’s, both of us having similar histories, driving the same car, and growing up in neighbouring towns, #thankyou 🌹; for being able to fetch my laundry in Sea Point even though they were technically closed; for a power walk on my secret Bakoven path, sadly with lots of litter at its start, and giving me some protection against the wind, earning 300 Discovery points; for feeling warmed up on my return, the wind feeling chilly when I started walking; for Utopia receiving two excellent reviews on the Cape Town Restaurants: The Good; Bad & Nasty Facebook Group in the past two days; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Thursday 21 January 2021, Day 25 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 302 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a close to perfect day; for waking up early, and starting to write immediately, given that Thursdays are always my busy day of the week; for having an hour available for a Camps Bay walk before my Cleaning Team arrived, gaining 300 Discovery points; for finding a bush on Camps Bay Drive with hidden litter, which I showed Carmen and Imtiaz; for getting all my writing work done by 13h00, when I had to get ready to leave for town; for Miss M and Mr G being far more tolerant of each other 😻😻; for striking a compromise deal about Henry’s salary increase; for a good meeting to present the Communication proposal for Client 2; for a very good Status meeting with Utopia; for meeting Jenny Stephens in Mouille Point, going for a walk and tea at Lillies afterwards ; for bumping into Tania Harrison at Lillies, celebrating the birthday of her son; for returning to Utopia to photograph an engagement, the lucky lady crying, being so moved; for the fabulous feedback about my work from Utopia Owner/Chef Pavel, and via their coffee supplier Ciro who told a manager that Utopia is the talk of the town in Cape Town, after 2 1/2 months of working with them; for Cain at Dinkel Bakery keeping my two poppyseed rolls; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a busy and efficiently planned day; for a warm 26C day after yesterday’s wind; for being able to see the new Camps Bay Police Station crime victim support unit, which was launched today; for an amazing Black Friday, my first time ever making use of discounts offered; for cleaning up the stream with the Camps Bay cleaners this morning and in Bakoven this afternoon; for an interesting talk on Consumer Insights at Whitespace Creative, invited by Tania Harrison; for a Christmas shop at the German Food Shop above Dinkel Bakery, Dinkel keeping some poppy seed rolls for me, and I seeing a must-have Berliner; for an always friendly shop at the Continental Butchery on Upper Kloof Street; for dancing to Kfm 💃; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
