Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a sunny 16C day, lifting the spirits, before more rain arrives tomorrow ☔️; for a quick Blogpost write followed by a Camps Bay walk; for a trip down south, buying plants, dropping off pearl bracelets at Caroline Smith in Claremont, needing restringing, meeting her for the first time, and driving to Kenilworth to see Fat Harry’s renovation, due to reopen in October under new ownership; for popping in at Flower Café at Petals in Woodstock; for a walk through Bakoven, bumping into my Lauren and my nephew Nick Solomon ❤️, staying in Cape Town while the hotel of which he is the GM in the Seychelles is still closed to tourism; and for being happy and healthy. Monday 8 June 2020, Day 8 of Level 3, after 66 days of Level 4 and 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a peaceful organized day; for a sunny day, not too cold even though it only reached 18C, with midday mist; for completing the complicated 4-page Form of the Provincial Tourism authority, sending it with 5 certificates of support, after getting all the certificates stamped at the police station; for getting my admin work for the day done quickly; for a shorter walk than normal, my hip being very painful today, probably due to the change in weather coming soon; for a lovely snooze this afternoon; for a long chat to restaurateur Ian Halfon, who is opening a mega Food Delivery and Collection service from Friday onwards (Blogpost tomorrow); and for being fit and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Tuesday 31 March 2020, Day 16 of SA Corona Virus, Day 5 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful but slightly cooler and cloudy day; for the friendly locals walking past, chatting across the road, even if we haven’t met each other, such a lovely community spirit; for my new ‘gym’ I ‘created’ in our building; for the steady drop in my Resting Heart Rate; for meeting my step goal today; for being more active this past week than the week before; for the reception of Kfm being back to normal, after two days of interrupted broadcasting due to the damaged undersea internet cable, and its wonderful dancing music 💃, especially the last hour of ‘Dinsdag Dansdag’, with fabulous dancing tunes; for DJ Dino Ben Tovim playing for us from his home; for a long catch-up chat with Alex’s Jamie Hoyland, Alex being so busy at work; for the petrol price coming down by almost R2 a liter at midnight; for the R218 money-back I received from Discovery Vitality; and for happily having spent five days in ‘confinement’ already. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
