Monday 8 June 2020, Day 8 of Level 3, after 66 days of Level 4 and 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a peaceful organized day; for a sunny day, not too cold even though it only reached 18C, with midday mist; for completing the complicated 4-page Form of the Provincial Tourism authority, sending it with 5 certificates of support, after getting all the certificates stamped at the police station; for getting my admin work for the day done quickly; for a shorter walk than normal, my hip being very painful today, probably due to the change in weather coming soon; for a lovely snooze this afternoon; for a long chat to restaurateur Ian Halfon, who is opening a mega Food Delivery and Collection service from Friday onwards (Blogpost tomorrow); and for being fit and healthy. 🙏💙

I was planning to go to Stellenbosch today, so I did my work chop chop, getting everything done this morning, until I heard that our meeting was postponed to later this week. I am very keen to get my Tourist Guide Badge and card, so this was my priority for the day, to get all the copies of the paperwork to the Province. I walked to the police station to get the certificates stamped.

My Blogpost today was about a research study conducted on the Milnerton and Muizenberg beaches during Lockdown by UCT students, in collaboration with the Government and City of Cape Town, analysing the volume, type, and country of origin of litter on those beaches, including from Brazil and Egypt!

I did another walk at lunchtime, to Bakoven, with beautiful mist at the Twelve Apostles. But once again it hurt and I was limping. So I decided to measure my temperature (happy that is at 36,1C), as I had aches and pains in general, and so decided to go to bed this afternoon. All problems sorted now.

I’ve started taking Minsky out onto the terrace for a few minutes at a time. She is very nervous of the traffic noise, not a bad thing. 🐱

Movie time tonight 🍿

I was shocked at the unprofessional behaviour by Kfm DJ Brandon Leigh, when I messaged him on the station’s What’s App line, about Kfm being a music and not a talk radio station. He replied with sarcasm, and then with downright disrespect and unprofessionalism:

So this is the next shot at me on the Kfm What’s App 😡😡😡😡😡:

Yes the show is about the listeners…it always has been and always will be…you have your opinion…Feedback can come in many forms…you’ve proved that… if anyone is on an ego trip it is you…you don’t get to speak to me like i work for you! Post that!’’

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
