Tuesday 14 April 2020, Day 30 of SA Corona Virus, Day 19 of SA Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful day, sunny with the slightest breeze; for the fantastic service I receive at Woolworths and Pick n Pay, getting to know each other better in this unusual time; that I am so extremely fortunate to live in Camps Bay, and to be in Lockdown here; to be able to keep fit by walking and dancing to Kfm Dansdag in my home; that I have been blessed with the company of KitKat (aka Charlie); that there was a beautiful 💙 cloud touching Lion’s Head this morning; and that I am fit and healthy. 🙏💙

I wrote a Blogpost this morning about the chefs, restaurants and food supply companies making their baked and cooked dishes, as well as ingredients, available via delivery and collection. It is very controversial, and some tread a very fine line in not breaking the regulations. One restaurant in Camps Bay already did so, and had to stop its Lockdown operation.

Corona Virus Lockdown: Food Offering and Delivery very tightly controlled, yet some chefs and restaurants have found ways to do it!

KitKat slept snugly on my bed with me, very peaceful, compared to the night before. I was overwhelmed by the cat-kindness shown to me yesterday by Michele Antelme, in dropping off some cat food, and from Petra Renate Quinlan, who also offered ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Boy, KitKat loved the Hill’s pellets. I connected with his dad Barry Aaron, who lives down the road in Bakoven, but the naughty boy went wandering this morning, and still has not returned. 😪

I walked to the shops, collecting some Essentials from Woolies and Pick n Pay, also delivering an Easter Bunny to Gary Arendse, the Woolies Manager, who had the weekend off and was back at work today. So grateful for the service from him. 🙏

I had a Zoom lesson with Stuart Bailey this morning, needing it for a video conference with Canada tomorrow. Easy as pie, not sure why it didn’t work last week. A looooong chat with Brigitte Kaese, clearing out her apartment. And fabulous support from Donoven Hammond Gloy for someone in need. 🙏🙏🙏🙏 A looooong chat to my longest-standing friend Jenny Stephens,

As a non-income-earner I am concerned about the drop in the repo rate of 1% today, shared with many who only have interest from their investments to live from. 😱😪

SA Corona Status: 2415 cases 27 deaths 😷😪

The Corona Virus Lockdown, announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, and subsequently extended to 30 April, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
