Tuesday 18 August 2020, Day 1 of Level 2. The 145th Day of Lockdown. 😷.

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for an interesting day of surprises; for more sun to warm up the winter day, but the clouds still made it a chilly day, not quite as cold as yesterday; for having no writing to do, having written today’s story yesterday afternoon; for tackling Sandak-Lewin in more ways than one, not wanting to divulge too much right now; for organizing the rest of what is to become a very sociable spoiling week; for warming Camps Bay and Bakoven walks, happy to see Telkom workers fixing a badly damaged manhole and surrounding pavement; for the privilege of being able to call Councillor Nicola Jowell twice today; for our transplanted carrots growing beautifully after all the rain; for the invitation from Woolies Camps Bay to feature in a video tomorrow; for dancing to Dansdag ón Kfm; for getting an early night, as at 20h00, with the compliments of ESKOM Loadshedding 😱🥵; for the generosity of Martin Koch for fetching our Tourist Guiding Badges, and bringing mine to me this afternoon; for a cat chat with Michele Antelme; and for being happy and healthy 🙏💙

This morning Chef Sebastian Hendricks of The Cheesecake Checkout rpopped in to bring me my order of a salted caramel popcorn cheesecake…. drool. He was in Camps Bay to drop off some of his cheesecake samples at a restaurant opening shortly. Untouched as yet, and will be dessert for dinner on Thursday evening.

I take lots of pics on my walks in Camps Bay, and many of them go to Councillor Nicola to report things I see. So a random traffic-related pic of a vehicle I took on Saturday landed up in a pic of an alleged attempted crime location in the city today, sooooo bizarre.😱

Pre-warming my bed for Loadshedding. 😴

SA Corona Status : 592144 cases 12264 deaths 😷😥

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, and lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
