Monday 26 July 2021, Day of Level 3 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for the third beautiful summer day in a row, at 24C, after we had the coldest week in 10 years last week 😱; for a productive morning, having to change client operating hours on their websites and Social Media, with Utopia reopening today, after 4 weeks of closure; for a quick visit by Werner and Rose Klein, who had an eventful day, starting with their second vaccination, which they celebrated with Apple Tart & Cream at Labotessa Hotel, where I will go on Friday after getting my second jab; for a trip to Hout Bay, grateful to ice jewelers in the Mainstream Mall for adding a new clasp to my Pearl choker in 15 minutes, feeling like a good omen; for a Bakoven walk, with a lovely sunset; for a loooong Zoom meeting of the Camps Bay & Clifton Ratepayers Association committee; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙
I don’t easily praise Sandak-Lewin, our managing agent, due to the dreadful service from our Portfolio Manager Greg Anderson. But if all things fail with Greg in not responding for a number of days, I request MD Carl Smit for assistance, and he makes things happen in his company, not succumbing to political games favoring the other Trustees, as Greg does. Today was a good day, due to action by Carl. 👏👏👏.
I received a call out of the blue today, from a Jeanette in Gordon’s Bay, and previously Camps Bay, to praise my photographs on Instagram. After a bad week, she was a fantastic tonic. 🧡. She owns a guest house, and invited me to come and stay, take some photographs for her, and teach her some instagramming. I accepted immediately, especially when she told me that her beds have electric blankets. 👏 Turns out that she is the wife of entertainer Richard Loring, busy writing a book, she told me.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July, and returned to Level 3 on 26 July, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
