Tuesday 7 April 2020, Day 23 of SA Corona Virus, Day 12 of SA Lockdown 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a lovely warm bed on a chilly evening last night; for a day of four seasons, starting with a lovely shower ☔️, being cloudy, and an afternoon of wonderful sunshine; for lovely morning music on Smile FM, especially the 6-in-row of the Rautenbach family, and Kfm this afternoon, getting to my step goal 🎶👣; for having wonderful Llewellyn Lambert helping me to fix a problem on my Blog; for Kfm announcing that it will play ‘South African Royalty’ every evening from 22h00 – 24h00, dedicated to local music, to help local musicians earn royalties Martin Myers; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
I wrote Part 2 of my Blogpost about the Eat Out Top 20 chefs and what they are doing during Lockdown, rather disappointing about not doing much to keep their image polished during this period. 😱
Corona Virus: How SA Eat Out Top 20 Chefs are coping with the COVID-19 Lockdown – Part 2!
Since yesterday I couldn’t download photographs into my Blog, and Llewellyn made me try various things, like switching the iPad on and off, and downloading the latest Software. They seemed to have changed the way one does it, without notification, so now I know how to get around the problem. Phew, a relief. 🙏🍎
I loved lying on a lounger in the wonderful sunshine this afternoon, and seeing cloud hearts drift by. 💙💙💙
I received lovely feedback from Darren Combrink about my SwitchBitch Book 2, focusing on my first Camino, from France through Spain, to Santiago de Compostela👣:
‘Hi Chris, I’ve finally finished reading SwitchBitch Book 2. I’ve been very disciplined not jumping into Book 3. This Lockdown has given most of us time and that’s just what some of us have needed. Your journey of transformation in walking the camino was no small feat for you. I know this after reading Book 1 not to mention Facebook posts and pictures of the old Chris who probably battled to climb a flight of stairs. I did not know the old Chris but what I see now is inspiring. I’m sure many people can learn a lot from your journey of transformation. I read most of your Camino posts on Facebook as they happened but reading them again in the book helped me realise just how different our Camino journeys are for each one of us. You were so fortunate to have Brigitte Kaese as a guide on this journey as it opened your eyes to a future solo journey. I often look back on my journey of life and think how grateful I am to many people for giving me the encouragement and that little nudge in the right direction. The Camino Francés can be done in so many different ways, from the cheap Albergues to the high end accommodation. Either way it’s your own journey and never let anyone dictate how it should be done. I always say do the Camino “Your Way”. Seek advice but go with your gut feel.
I do feel that travel companies can learn from your experience on the Camino with regards to accommodation classifications. In depth detail on the establishment should be provided and higher end alternatives should be provided at an additional cost in the same town. The Camino has definitely changed your life, I could see the changes in you as your journey unfolded day by day. There is such a beautiful picture of you pouring wine at the Irache Wine Fountain, a moment of happiness on your Camino and I know there were many.
Your journey with Jörn was an interesting one. I was shocked when I read about one of your paintings hanging in his home. Clearly, he was only after one thing from you, very sad.
I was in stitches of laughter when you refer to certain people in your block as the lesbians and divorcee. It seems like you have many challenges with holiday rentals around you. I’ve lived through that in the past and I know exactly what you’ve been going through.
The restaurant reviews often go a little over my head but I do enjoy reading about the politics in the industry. When we visit Cape Town again, a visit to the Table Bay for the High Tea or should I say Afternoon Tea is on the cards and Orangerie In Franschhoek.
I’m now ready to read Book 3.
Kind Regards, Darren’ ❤️❤️❤️
Throughout the day I dance-walked around the couch, exceeding my step goal…. 💃👣❤️
SA Corona Status: 1749 cases, 13 deaths 😷😪
FitBit 13000 steps 9 km 👣

The Corona Virus Lockdown, announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
