Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 64 of Level 3,:3 August 2020

Monday 3 August 2020, Day 64 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4, 130 days of Lockdown 😱😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a cooler but equally beautiful day, overcast, and now ending with rain, earlier than was forecast to start, the kitty cats getting drenched outside; for starting my day in a different manner, taking an early walk so that I could take photographs of Florence Poretti, taking an Aqua Class in the Tidal Pool, with such fabulous music such as ‘Rock around the Clock’, ‘Obladi Oblada’ and more, that I started dancing 💃 at the edge of the pool; for meeting a very friendly young man who used to jog past me in our early morning Exercise times in Level 4, turning out to be Brian Van Hansen, on whose photography website I’ve been posting some pics, what a small world; for the City of Cape Town having finally removed all the kelp we gathered into piles more than 2 weeks ago; for amazing assistance today from my Alex, Darren Combrink and his Robert Anderson, and Lindsey Killops Gibaud, in meeting the technical challenges of applying for two jobs, feeling a little like two steps forward and two backward today, with a Full Moon edge to it; for some good news about the sale of my Hermanus house, with great thanks to Johan Prins; for a Bakoven walk, seeing far too much litter; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Sunday 10 May 2020, Mother’s Day, Day 10 of Level 4, after 35 days at Level 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful sunny day after a very foggy start; that I could still go out to exercise despite the fog, choosing to walk in the opposite direction to normal, as far as the Food Truck parking spot, and then up and down the lanes in Bakoven, deserted, making it very pleasant to walk here, and doing 45 minutes of Cardio (200 Discovery points ❤️); for a Mother’s Day message from my Alex at 4h00 this morning already; for the delivery of a Mother’s Day treat from Food by Kai, including delectable eclairs and more, delivered to my door, being a member of the Restaurant Food Delivery Group (pic below) 👏; for lovely phone calls with Shaun Terry, Stuart Bailey, and from German swallow Gabi Vocke; for enjoying my playlist on a Sunday, not liking the DJ who spends most of the day on a Sunday in the Kfm studio; for hearing from Marlene Du Plessis-Zoetl and that she is finally home again; for a lovely sun snooze on the terrace; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Wednesday 6 May 2020, Day 6 of Level 4 Lockdown, after 35 days at Level 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the amazing weather we are blessed with, quite untypical for winter, keeping our spirits buoyant; for another good Exercise Time, once again warm enough to wear shorts and a short sleeve top; for a shopping walk this afternoon, and kind service at Pick n Pay and its Manager; for the lovely feedback about the Restaurant Food Delivery Group, making a small difference to our industry, getting close to 300 restaurants and soon we’ll be at 2500 members; for being able to work all day, yet get my dancing 💃 on Kfm going and exceeding my step goal; for getting a Discovery Gameboard play and a good point win; for a long chat to Jenny Stephens; for a chat with Darren Combrink, helping me with some technical issues in the Food Delivery Group Facebook Page; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Monday 4 May 2020, Day 4 of SA Lockdown Level 4, after 35 days of Lockdown Level 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for keeping fit even more than I have already done in Level 5, in being allowed out of the house from 6h00 – 9h00, from 7h30 being more my time; for not having been age-discriminated against in terms of exercising ❤️; for the City of Cape Town Solid Waste Department being friendly when collecting our garbage this morning, although they did ask for donations…. ; for being able to go for a shopping walk, both the pharmacy and Woolies having found items I had requested; for being kept busy with the Take-Away Food Delivery list all morning, getting to 220 restaurants on the list, and delighted that many restaurants have done so well this weekend; for such a beautiful sunny day, despite a chill in the morning (13 C when I went to exercise) and a bite in the air now; for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
