Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful day, cooler at 22C, will a light breeze, and clouds rolling in now; for being very relaxed this morning, writing most of a blogpost for next week, I often being under time pressure in my writing mornings; for a gorgeous snuggle on my bed with Minsky this afternoon; for a walk near the Tidal Pool with my cleaning team late this afternoon; for my own walk to 4th Beach Clifton and back, gaining 209 Miles; and for being happy and healthy 🙏💙

Today the mask-wearing in Camps Bay dropped to about 10%, especially younger persons not caring, wearing their masks as a ‘bracelet’ around their hand. When I tell them that they can be fined, they say that they have enough money to pay it…. 😱. The only sign of Law Enforcement is late afternoon, to see if they can catch anyone in the Tidal pool. They don’t walk along Victoria Road anymore.

I showed some picnickers near the Tidal Pool where the bins are, and asked them to place their litter there. It led to an torrent of racial abuse, as if I had accused them of littering. It felt like Full Moon tension, completely uncalled for. Imtiaz told me that he had called them out for being on the beach earlier in the day, so they retaliated… 🥵

I love that Twitter and Facebook have banned Trump until the Biden inauguration on the 20th at least…. as a Social Media person I know how dreadful it is if one cannot post, for whatever reason. For him it must feel as if his arm is cut off. Many ask why it took Facebook and Twitter so long to cut him off. 🥵🥵🥵 What a joke America has become. I spent most of last night catching up on the events at the Capitol on German TV, hoping for more balanced reporting. Interesting what next week will bring 😱

Strange is that Pick n Pay in Camps Bay is now closing at 18h00, without warning to customers.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
