Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful day, the South Easter pumping now; for having been able to work with my Cleaning Team for the past three months, and having built up a great team, learning from them too; for two easy-going walks through Camps Bay; for my client receiving two fabulous reviews on the Good Bad & Nasty Cape Town Restaurants Facebook Group, the 11th and 12th ones since I started working on the marketing almost three months ago 💙; for a lovely sleep this afternoon; for my Kits having kissed and made up, now accepting each other as baby brother and sister, an anxious 10 days for me 😻😻; for receiving fantastic feedback from the Camps Bay residents with my team for our cleaning work; for having such peace and quiet in our apartment block, only one other apartment being occupied 👏👏👏; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

Today I hosted Carmen and Imtiaz to a tea and croissant treat at Firefly Café, to celebrate the successful end of a 3 month cleaning contract, operating 5 days a week, which was paid for by the EPWP and ends tomorrow.

As the contract is not (immediately at least) renewed, we are so grateful for the new funding support by the Camps Bay Ratepayers Association and Community who Cares via the Camps Bay CSI, becoming a three day a week cleaning arrangement.

I read to them the beautiful messages which were sent to Carmen, Imtiaz and I in the Camps Bay Residents Whats App Group, and they have asked me to thank everyone for their support, and for believing in them. It means a great deal to them. Thank you from me too. 🙏💙

Yesterday they had their greatest challenge, in cleaning up a homeless ‘home’ underneath a tree near 68 Geneva Drive. They cleared out 19 garbage bags of litter from this spot. A fantastic job well done. Earlier in the week they cleared litter hidden in a bush opposite 74 Camps Bay Drive. We also tackled the top part of Camps Bay Drive area, from Rontree to Geneva Drive.

Today I cleaned up horse droppings on Victoria Road in Bali Bay with our rake, SAPS apparently using the horse patrol to check on fishing permits!

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, and extended to 15 February on 11 January, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
