Saturday 23 January 2021, Day 27 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 304 of Lockdown. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a wonderful day, my most sociable and restaurant dining day since the start of Lockdown; for a lovely cool start to the day, not becoming warmer than 24C today, and ending with a drizzle; for a huff and puff quick walk up to midway Geneva Drive, to show my cleaning team a project to tackle, only having an hour for them, giving me 300 Discovery points; for a delicious Breakfast at Quentin at Oakhurst; for a late lunch with Stuart Bailey at Utopia; for an early dinner with Katie Friedman and her son Iggy at NV-80, my first visit to the Sea Point restaurant; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

We were asked by a Camps Bay resident to clean up in an open area on Geneva Drive, where a homeless person is sleeping under a tree. We found huge amounts of litter, my team filling 19 garbage bags. This is the biggest clean up that they have done with me in the past 3 months.

I rushed off to Hout Bay, and loved catching up with Melanie Davidow, sharing some Instagram tips with her, and loved my breakfast of Salmon Eggs Benedict and tea. They have such a lovely outside seating area under an oak tree. They are open from 9h00 – 12h00 for breakfast, followed by lunch and early dinner until 19h00, Tuesdays to Sundays.#thankyou Mel and Chef Quentin. ❤️

I stopped to shop at Woolies Hout Bay, very busy. I had time for a stop at home, to check on my kits. 😻😻

I wanted to spoil my restaurant friend Stuart, going through difficult times, as are all restaurant owners currently. He had the Tasting Menu, and I a delicious Short Rib from the À la Carte menu. There was a 30th birthday celebration, which I photographed. And DJ and Singer SiAnne performed there.

Then it was time to meet Katie Friedman and her son at NV-80, the restaurant named after the owners Naldo and Victor Gonçalves. I need to research the meaning of the ‘80’ in the name. The music in the restaurant was wonderful, I could have danced there 💃💃💃. I kept it light after the earlier eating, having a calamari tubes starter, and ice cream/sorbet. #thankyou Katie

A lovely day. ❤️❤️❤️

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, and extended to 15 February on 11 January, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
