Saturday 30 October 2021, Day 30 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a lovely relaxed carefree day, despite not starting off well due to a very restless sleep, worried about Minsky gallivanting elsewhere until 7h00 this morning, getting up regularly to see if she had returned; for a busy start to the day, doing a Spring clean, adding a good number of steps to my count today; happy to see Gary Peterson when he arrived early, amazing that he offered to take over the vacuuming of the lounge, the last task I had to do before Rose Klein and Hans-Werner Klein arrived, and we having some catch-up chat time; for Werner and Gary joining me for a Camps Bay Community Beach Clean, our best turnout yet with 20 adults and learners participating; for being spoilt with tea across the road at the Beach by our clean-up sponsor The 41 Restaurant, meeting Carien Polly, a writer of radio dramas, and having a fabulous chat; for leaving happy Camps Bay High School learners to enjoy their Burgers which they won as a prize for picking up the most litter (merci Marius Blanc 🙏); for Tania Olivier and Marlene’ Eggersglusz van Duuren joining us for lunch when we got back home from the beach clean, Rose being a super star in having brought a huge bowl of potato salad, and making the Sauerkraut (despite not feeling well), Gary brought pretzels, Marlene wine, my favorite poppyseed Dinkel rolls (how amazing is that ❤️❤️❤️), and bubbly, and carrot cake, Tania bringing a delicious lemon cheesecake from Peppertree Café and a bottle of wine, and I having bought Viennas and beer, making it an Oktoberfest celebration before October dies tomorrow 🍺🇩🇪; for a lovely weather day, peaking at 24C, loving sitting outside on the terrace; for filling up my car at BP President, having only used half a tankful of petrol this month, missing the wonderful Mike who had the day off, and popping in at Zest, fully booked every evening 🙏🙏🙏; for wonderful dance music on Kfm’s Blokparty; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙

I posted my Sweet & Sour Service Awards today, going to Labotessa Hotel and ESKOM, respectively!

Sweet Service Award goes to Labotessa Café ; Sour Service Award goes to ESKOM!

We were fascinated hearing from Natasha of I know a Guy recycling company how they would take our litter, separate it by colour, and eventually send it to Switzerland, from which garden furniture  will be made! 👏👏👏

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July,  returned to Level 3 on 26 July, returned to Level 2 on 13 September, and returned to Level 1 on 1 October is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
