Sunday 11 April 2021, Day 42 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a very relaxed and calm day; for getting work finished, addressing a feedback email which needed diplomacy; for having my cats sharing my bed when I write in it, Minsky being lights out after another late night of gallivanting; for a sleep catch up; for a snooze on the terrace on a lovely sunny 23 C day; for a power walk that I didn’t think I’d have the energy for, tackling the 100 steps of Houghton steps, and incorporating the Camps Bay Promenade, very busy, DJs at Mynt, Caprice, The 41 and Tigers Milk trying to compete for the loudest and best music 😱; for earning 300 Discovery points; for a beautiful sunset; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

This probably sounds like Schadenfreude, but we are intrigued about (and a little delighted) that the SA Butler Academy website is out of action, possibly hacked? I’ve never seen such a message before.

I had shocking service at Pick n Pay when fetching my Daily Maverick, which can only be ascribed to racism. Unfortunately none of the lovely managers were on duty. It’s not a surprise that most of us locals don’t like shopping there! 😡 A massive contrast to the lovely service at our Woolworths ❤️

Today a year ago it was Easter Sunday. A day that changed my life, with KitKat walking in through my door. It was a love affair that stretched over 8 months 😻, until he was snatched back by his former owner. I fear that he is still severely locked up, after 5 months 🙀. I miss him so 😻

In wanting to grow my knowledge base about Social Media a ‘free’ course by the Shaw Academy caught my eye. I filled in the form, was duly registered, and then came the shock: the course notes cost a fortune! Of course not mentioned until I had been hooked in. Sneakily they justified why they needed my credit card details. I tried to cancel immediately, and followed the instructions. Another shock: I have to call a 087 number in office hours to justify why I want to cancel, totally against the Consumer Protection Act! 😡😡😡. And lo and behold, they have already deducted two payments off my card 😡😡😡

Banele did not come to work today. There was quite a lot of litter to pick up.

SA Corona Status: 1 558 458 cases 53322 deaths 😷🥲 288406 vaccinations

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
