Thursday 18 February 2021, Day 54 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 330 of Lockdown 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a very good food day; for getting my writing done before 10h00, attending a meeting with Councillor Nicola Jowell, Imtiaz, and Xolani Ngqakayi , City of Cape Town Head of Cleansing for an area which includes Camps Bay, long overdue; for a croissant treat at Firefly Café, and doing one Camps Bay walk; for my Mohnbrötchen waiting for me at Dinkel Bakery; for a very good Status meeting with my client, it feeling like ages since we had last seen each other, but it was just four days; for an amazing new food discovery, Parliament Street becoming a new food lane 💙; for another Camps Bay walk; and for being happy and healthy 🙏💙
My Blogpost today was the communication by Discovery to us as members regarding vaccinations…. Shocking to hear on Kfm news was Premier Alan Winde saying that no vaccines in our country have been approved!
Discovery updates its members about Vaccinations…. yet many questions remain unanswered!
Imtiaz and I shared with Xolani the problems we have about the green bins overflowing, especially on good weather weekend afternoons, for the truck fetching the garbage bags not coming every day due to service problems, meaning that they get torn and the litter flies around Camps Bay again. It was a very productive meeting and Imtiaz could give his input too.
On some Thursdays I head to Parliament Street after my client meeting. I was heading to Pilcrow & Cleaver, seeing Scottish scallops on their menu for this week. But I first wanted to check out the new Korean restaurant Allium across the road, in the Speaker’s Corner building. Walking there I saw signs for the Labotessa Hotel on Church Square with its Café. I’ve photographed the hotel exterior before, a beautiful blue grey 4 storey building, and a real wow in its Dutch-inspired interior design, one entering its Fragrance Boutique. I got goosebumps in discovering this special place, its Café serving TWS tea in Le Creuset pot and cup, and the most delicious apple tart and cream. Total indulgence…. mmmmm. I’m going back with a lunch date tomorrow, I was so
Impressed. 💙💙💙
Chef Judi Fourie of Pilcrow & Cleaver is amazingly kind, sending me home with purple potatoes, a bottle of wine and a chocolate brownie, adding them to my purchases of the scallops to eat at home, chicken liver paté, an avo, potatoes, and a Pasteis de Nata. #thankyou for your generosity. ❤️❤️❤️

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, extended to 15 February on 11 January, and extended but relaxed on 1 February, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
