Thursday 25 February 2021, Day 62 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 337 of Lockdown 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a lovely day, super organized, and goals achieved; for sleeping well, having Minsky in the house last night; for a victory with the apartment Trustees today; for a walk to Clifton and back, earning 300 Discovery points, struggling to walk back against the strong wind; for picking up my poppy seed rolls at Dinkel Bakery; for a quick German Deli shop at Hartlief, and at Woolies, using my Discovery voucher and grateful for a number of surprise Woolies discounts; for a very good Status meeting with my client, ordering ice cream, having a craving; for another ice cream at Häagen-Dazs on Kloof Street, topped with Smarties; for a most wonderful evening again at ëlgr Restaurant, with Barbara Lenhard and Florian Gast; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
My Blogpost today was about my cooking of the pan-roasted prawns and hake yesterday, on the Live-Cook Channel, a recipe developed by Chef Reuben Riffel.
The wind has been blowing like crazy throughout the day today, and now too. ëlgr was largely protected against the wind, in its outside courtyard.
ëlgr Restaurant really understands Restauranting. On arrival Sommelier Mario Salvatore came to our table, thanking me for returning to the restaurant and thanking Barbara and Flo for eating at it for the first time. We were offered a complimentary glass of bubbly, a choice between two, selecting a fabulous Silverthorn River Dragon. We each had a starter and I shared a pizza with Barbara. Flo tried the new chicken dish. Chef Jesper Nilsson came to our table too, also thanking me for returning and for my Review. Wow 💙

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, extended to 15 February on 11 January, and extended but relaxed on 1 February, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
