Friday 4 December 2020, Day 75 of Level 1, Day 254 of Lockdown.😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a lovely sunny day, but windier and cooler now; for a calm and relaxed day; for an admin morning; for a two hour clean up with my Cleaning Team at Glen Beach and Maiden’s Cove, the stretch between Maiden’s Cove and Fourth Beach Clifton being particularly full of litter; for a tea visit from Bernard Gutman, now a resident of Saldanha, but visiting for the day, and kindly bringing me a box of Nigiro Earl Grey Blue Flower tea as a gift, a catch up chat in not having seen each other in ages; and for being healthy 🙏💙
I went to see Bhukeka at Absolute Pets, shocked about the news of KitKat’s abduction, knowing all my cat stories since I’ve started buying cat food there. She was devastated, for KitKat especially.
Brian Van Hansen completed the ‘Christmas in Cape Town’ video for my Canadian Tour Operator, and by this afternoon they had posted it on Instagram already, the first such video produced by one of their Tourist Guides for a series on Christmas in major cities around the world, during Covid Lockdown. I did not feel in top form when we did the video, it being the day after KitKat’s departure. 😿😿 #thankyou Brian for saying yes at such short notice. 💙💙💙

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, and lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
