Tuesday 25 August 2020, Day 8 of Level 2, 152 days of Lockdown. 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for the rain we are having today, more than was forecast ☔️; for being lucky to walk to Camps Bay in a sunny window, before more rain arrived, raining now again ☔️; for 8 hours of sleep in total, even though it was in batches, after Miss Minsky had a sociable evening and came back home in the early hours of this morning 🙀; for a restaurant information scoop which became my Blogpost today; for my resting heart rate steadily dropping after it was alarmingly climbing until this weekend; for finding my shopping bag on the Camps Bay Promenade, where I had left it after sitting on it for a short walking break, giving me extra steps to have to walk back when I needed it for my Woolies’s shopping 👣😱; for dancing to Kfm Dansdag; for a chat to Jenny Stephens and Stuart Bailey; for seeing how beautiful the new Firefly Café in Camps Bay will be when it opens next week, with planters done today; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
Of my cats KitKat had been the wanderer, but he is so homely now. Little Minsky is the one enjoying the outdoors, not being able to wait to go outside in the mornings. Last night she threw all caution to the wind, and hadn’t come back by midnight. I was worried sick, but had to sleep, not sleeping well. When I woke up two hours later, she came flying in through the door when I opened for her, so happy to be back inside. She has not left the apartment today, sleeping all day on my bed, usually preferring to sleep on the couch in the lounge. I think she got a big fright. 🙀😻 #Allisforgiven
My Blogpost today is about the sad news about Chef Arno Janse van Rensburg leaving Janse & Co next week, his restaurant and its name containing part of his surname. I saw the news by chance on Instagram. Chef Arno and I spoke on the phone, and all will be revealed next week. So sad news may turn into good food news. ❤️
Chef Arno Janse van Rensburg leaves Janse & Co, restaurant will continue to operate when it reopens!
My apology to all who ran to the bottle stores today, after posting my booze ban warning, which turned out to be fake news. 😱.
A chilly rainy evening ☔️, so off early to my warm bed.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, and lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
