Tuesday 5 January 2021, Day 8 of Adjusted Level 3, Day 286 of Lockdown 😊

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful day, cooler than yesterday and windy, but not very strong; for an almost full day of writing and admin; for a lovely relaxing walk all the way up to 4th Beach Clifton, earning 300 Discovery points; for hearing from Hennie Kriel at Audi that I have one more free car service as part of my Maintenance Plan, so I have booked it for next week; for dancing the rest of my steps to Kfm; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

My Blogpost today was a loooong one, which I started over the weekend already, landing up at over 4000 words. It is my Top 20 highlights of 2020, and a Gratitude for what it has taught me.

Thank you 2020 for everything that you have taught me, my Top 20 of 2020!

There is no sign of Law Enforcement in Camps Bay anymore, and the mask wearing % dropped to 20% today. I should write a story of the excuses people have for not wearing one. 🥵

I am very proud of how little litter there was in general, and especially on the pavement between Glen Beach and Fourth Beach, always littered.

I hate Call Centre calls, and today I did an hour long battle with Discovery about my payments which didn’t go though over the weekend. I have to speak to the Medical Health and Insure departments separately. It took 45 minutes to do the first one, Nozipho holding my hand telephonically. Insure has a completely different set up, and I was sent the bank details by email, the weirdest letter between RMB Bank and Discovery Insure, a bank official confirming the bank account number. I don’t trust it one bit! So I will call again tomorrow. In the mean time my Medical benefits have been cancelled, an sms informed me a few minutes ago, despite the payment I made this afternoon and the proof of payment I sent to them. 🥵🥵🥵

I am mad at Facebook, last week booking three days of a sponsored ad for my client via my credit card. The ad did not want to load, a technical error being indicated and I was asked to try again. I did this three times, as I had a deadline for it. I gave up in the end, only to see that the ad had been approved four times for exactly the same ad, due to their instructions of trying again. They took payment for the first day at a higher rate than booked, and today they took two more, when I transferred money to pay Discovery, even when I accidentally deleted the ad on the second day. There is no communication possible with Facebook about billing queries and errors. I won’t touch them again! So I have learnt in an expensive way.

Camps Bay is very quiet today.

It is five weeks ago today that KitKat was taken away from us. 😢😿

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
