Wednesday 6 January 2021, Day 9 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 287 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a lovely sunny day, not too hot at 24C and a mild breeze this afternoon; for two Discovery Game board plays just after midnight, scoring enough Miles to get a Woolies R100 voucher for 750 Miles, which I promptly more than spent in a Woolies shopping trip this afternoon, keeping it very healthy; for a quick Bakoven walk before my housekeeper Portia arrived; for a busy morning writing for my client, being proud to execute instructions almost immediately; for my tidy and clean home and freshly made bed 💙 ; for successfully getting my Discovery Insure premium paid, compared to yesterday’s drama; for successfully getting a Loot order completed with telephonic assistance by Janine; for a longer uphill walk between Victoria Road and Camps Bay Drive, to get to Woolies, bumping into Merryl Wyatt on the way, previous almost-neighbours in my former guest house days; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

Every day I try to post something different on behalf of my client, and today I posted some fabulous reviews and client photographs. The cherry on top was getting another great review on the Cape Town Restaurants Good, Bad & Nasty Facebook Group. 🙏

I only got to speak to my Birthday Boy late this afternoon, having had a busy working day. He told me that the UK has done the most Covid vaccinations, about 1,3 million, the largest number in Europe. The tighter the UK Covid Lockdown, the better he is doing with deliveries. The only sad thing is that he has to celebrate on his own tonight. 🥂🍾❤️

I have never ordered via Loot. They offer the lowest prices for my favorite perfume and deodorant CK one. Whenever I went into their system, and got near their cart, my order doubled, and I couldn’t reduce it back to the order size I wanted. They are so good that they could pick up my incomplete order, and emailed me, inviting me to contact them. The first person I spoke to took exception to not being able to spell her name Owethu, it becoming racist, and even harder for her was spelling my email address with my difficult surname, not getting it right after 10 attempts. So I dropped the call, and the lovely Janine took my next call, fixing my order, and I doing the payment while she was on the line. I’m so used to the efficiency of TakeaLot, but now I know how to deal with Loot, worth it for the saving.

I should have known that the person taking one’s call in a big organization like Discovery and Loot can make all the difference to one’s interaction. I was so surprised that Discovery Insure is only half as pedantic in its paying rejected premium payments compared to its Discovery Medical Health sister company. I was promised a 48 hour payment period via Debit Order, receiving an eight digit reference number for the call while the Medical Health payment reference number yesterday was 18 digits long…. really 🥵

So a lucky call centre day X 2. 💙

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
