Sunday 30 May 2021, Day 91 of Level 1 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a very foggy morning turning into such a beautiful day, perfect for the Camps Bay Community Litter clean up we did this morning; for being spoilt with tea by The 41 restaurant, our sponsor; for a safe drive to the Tyger Waterfront and back, starting with an ice cream spoil at The Dairy Den in Willowbridge; for a good Status meeting with my new client Harvest Culture Eaterie, followed by its launch function this evening; for getting home safely, despite more roadworks on the N1 on my way home, allowing me to make notes of President Ramaphosa’s speech broadcast on Kfm whilst crawling at 10 km/hour; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙
We had a fabulous litter cleaning turnout today, a very pleasant surprise. We collectively tackled Maiden’s Cove, filling 10 garbage bags. This area has had numerous homeless structures, now removed, but the litter had stayed behind. We all felt good to have done such a good deed. We only got to about 10% of the litter in this area, so will make return cleaning trips.
At Harvest Culture Eaterie I met Ilse Schreuder, mother of Chef Matt and wife of Dale, an interior designer of note, who designed Harvest Culture and is doing Chef Matt’s new Homespun at The Andros. I also met Matt’s sister Naomi, Vegan and the inspiration for the Vegan dishes on the Harvest Culture menu. I interviewed Chef Marc Redman, and photographed some of the Canapés which were served at the launch function.
President Ramaphosa put us back to Level 2 Adjusted from tomorrow onwards, with the Curfew at 23h00, and restaurants having to close at 22h00.
President Ramaphosa announces Lockdown change to Adjusted Level 2, Restaurants to close at 22h00.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, extended to 15 February on 11 January, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
