Sunday 27 December, Day 98 of Level 1, Day 277 of Lockdown. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a cooler day, at 23C; for being relaxed, despite having to do some writing work for my client; for having Carmen assist in the litter clean up today, when Imtiaz was sent home, not feeling well after yesterday’s busy day; for there being fewer picnickers in Camps Bay today, but the litter did escalate by late this afternoon; for some first lovely compliments about the Carte Blanche investigative report into the SA Butler Academy, even though I have not seen it myself, not subscribing to DSTV ❤️; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

Carmen had good energy today, but was a bit nervous to walk on her own, without Imtiaz. She kept the cleaning to the pavements and beachfront lawns, and she and I met up at 5 pm, a one hour hard cleaning graft for both of us, especially as the wind was coming up.

Gary Peterson has been very kind in recording the Carte Blanche insert on his phone, but we have technical problems in getting it to me in full via Whats App and Gmail. We’ll connect tomorrow to Airdrop it. Thanks so much Gary 🙏💙.

It is interesting to observe how people react via Social Media. I have been banned on Facebook and Instagram by the Butler Academy, as I can no longer tag them. I checked up on their Facebook page this morning, and saw them doing a PR offensive deluxe, posting a new positive post every hour, for the past few days, when they used to post once every few days previously. Guilty as charged! 😡😡😡

We have exceeded 1 million Corona cases today 😷😢. At the Tidal Pool, while cleaning litter, I noticed a group of persons sitting on the lawn, at least 10 of them, not one of them wearing a mask. I asked them to put on their masks. I received a mouthful of aggressive abuse, and took a photograph, just in case. One of the men came up to me threatingly, by now wearing a mask, demanding that I remove the photograph. I refused. He then called Law Enforcement officers sitting in a vehicle close by, and complained to them. I carried on cleaning. The Officers moved between the group and I. Apparently he was annoyed that his group was photographed and not any other group sitting nearby! I now ask all non-mask-wearers to put on their masks when I walk in Camps Bay. 😡😡😡

SA Corona Status 1004413 cases 26735 deaths 😷😢

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, and lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
