Leeu Collection hospitality group has announced its partnership with Chef Ritu Dalmia, a restaurateur from Delhi, where she owns Italian restaurant Diva.  Chef Ritu will look after all international restaurant interests of the Leeu Collection, excluding its South African restaurants. The appointment of Chef Ritu reflects the focus of Leeu Collection on Hospitality acquisitions in South Africa, Italy, and the U.K..

The Media release received yesterday suggests that two new restaurants have been acquired by Leeu Collection, one in Milan and one in the U.K. The new acquisition in Milan is planned to open later this year. The U.K. Restaurant is set to open next year. Chef Ritu has hosted two TV cooking shows on Indian television TV, and she has written a cookbook.

The Leeu Collection was founded in 2010 by Indian businessman Mr Analjit Singh, when he bought his first property in Franschhoek. He has since acquired further properties locally, as well as in the U.K., and in Italy.

In our country, Leeu Collection has focused its accommodation assets on Franschhoek, with three five-star accommodation establishments: Leeu Estates, a 17-room country house retreat and boutique winery; Leeu House, a 12-room hotel; and Le Quartier Français, a 21-room hotel and its three-bedroom LQF Villa. Its restaurant portfolio includes restaurants in Leeu House, in Leeu Estates, at Le Quartier Français, Marigold, and in Tuk Tuk Microbrewery, all located in Franschhoek. The Leeu Collection accommodation property Linthwaite House in the Lakes District in the U.K. has a restaurant too. Earlier this year it was announced that a 100-room hotel is to open in London in 2019, while a hotel is set to open in Florence too.

Ritu has an appetite for innovation in the kitchen and she has dazzled foodies around the globe with her culinary skills. With this new collaboration we strengthen everything the Leeu Collection stands for – culinary experiences with no boundaries, global in nature and unsurpassed in experience. A celebration of our philosophy through food’, says Carrie Wicks, CEO of the Leeu Collection.
