Sweet Service Award goes to Le Lude; Sour Service Award goes to Pick n Pay ASAP!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Le Lude wine estate in Franschhoek, and its Orangerie Restaurant Executive Chef Nicolene Barrow, for spoiling me with two bottles of Le Lude sparkling wine, my favourite bubbly, when I and a friend had lunch at her restaurant and I handed over a prize of a bottle of Adhara olive oil to her for being included in the 2021 Top 10 Women Chefs List.

The Sour Service Award goes to Pick n Pay ASAP! delivery ‘service’, for the fourth week running, it being too arrogant to apologise for the poor service I experienced with the introduction of its new shopping and delivery App. Now that they have my email details, the company is spamming me with product promos and recipes, contrary to the POPI Act, I not having given Pick n Pay permission to receive their marketing information!

The WhaleTales Sweet & Sour Service Awards are presented every Friday on the WhaleTales blog. Nominations for the Sweet and Sour Service Awards can be sent to Chris von Ulmenstein at chrisvonulmenstein [at] gmail.com.
