Celebrating Vegan Month with a B-Well Vegan Mayonnaise Chocolate Cake in a Cup!

 

It is clear to see that the Vegan trend is growing by leaps and bounds.  In Camps Bay, for example, three restaurants out of twenty in the suburb are almost completely Vegan in the fare they offer, particularly okja and Plant Food, while Firefly Café has a large percentage of Vegan dishes. Even regular restaurants have a number of Vegan dishes on their menus.

In honour of Vegan Month I was challenged by B-Well, together with a number of other ‘Influencers’, to bake a Vegan Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake in a Mug, the mayonnaise ingredient intriguing me in particular, and therefore I agreed  to participate. Continue reading →

Sweet Service Award goes to Maison J; Sour Service Award goes to Telkom!

 

The Sweet Service Award goes to Maison J in Camps Bay, spoiling Camps Bay residents and visitors to our suburb with excellent service, the best croissants in town (baked by Jason Bakery), good coffee, the best TWG teas, and a choice of almond and oat milk. On weekends the outlet is especially busy, so I sms Manager Vuyani Stemmer with a request to keep me the required number of plain croissants in case they sell out. Last month Maison J celebrated its third anniversary in Camps Bay, its owner David Chait always hands-on at the outlet in the mornings.

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 56 of Level 3, 26 July 2020.

 

Sunday 26 July 2020, Day 56 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the rain which fell overnight, making it a cooler 17C day today, oddly with a summer South- Easter, but very nippy, especially now as the sun has set; for two tea dates today, with Lynne Gordon at La Belle Bistro & Bakery, and then with Mahmud Fredericks at Maison J; for a walk through Camps Bay, and through Bakoven this afternoon; for another fabulous concert with Daniel Hope of Hope@Home on Tour with Salut Salon, performing from Potsdam; for doing my Accounting for June and most of July, proud of how frugal I have become; for ending the day with a lovely chat with Charlotte Zachariou in Knysna;  and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
