Cleaning Camps Bay: giving back to the community!

I’ve been called many things in my life, but the one that I like the most is that I’m ‘The cleaning lady of Camps Bay’, referring to my daily walks in Camps Bay and Bakoven, wearing a gardening glove to pick up litter along the way.

Atlantic Sun reporter Shahied Joseph wanted to honour women in the Camps Bay Community, and had heard about my litter cleaning, which I have done over the past two and a half years. Continue reading →

Saturday 19 June 2021, Day 4 of Level 3 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for another glorious day, back to summer for today and tomorrow, at 23C; for a perfect long sleep, and not feeling any vaccination side-effects; for a busy working morning; for experiencing day 1 of Zest Restaurant, its soft opening being a lunch event for a celebration, taking photographs and meeting more of the Zest team, so proud of how they handled it; for a Vit D shot on the terrace this afternoon; for a walk to the Camps Bay Tidal Pool, with a beautiful sunset; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Virus, Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 38 of Level 1, 7 April 2021.

Wednesday 7 April 2021, Day 38 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a lovely sunny 23C day; for an up and down day, luckily more up; for getting my writing work done in time before meeting with my client, he having the tea and shortbread ready when I arrived, being on the same wavelength as I on a number of decisions which needed to be made; for a lovely walk to the Camps Bay Tidal Pool with Vivian Warby, savouring the beautiful sunset; for (only) one Discovery Gameboard play, not receiving an Insure one for my poor driving score on my last Stellenbosch trip 😱; for a fabulously efficient Takealot order delivery, the perfection of online ordering; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 5 of Adjusted Level 3 Lockdown, 2 January 2021

Saturday 2 January 2021, Day 5 of Adjusted Level 3, Day 283 of Lockdown. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a 7 hour solid sleep, much better than my usual 5 hours; a beautiful 27C sunny day, the wind coming up now; so grateful for how clean Camps Bay looks; for being happy that Imtiaz and Carmen are both back at work today, starting their day with tea at my home, their work now deep-cleaning; for an energetic walk through Bakoven and up the lanes in lower Bakoven, I continuing on a Litter Mission of another kind, earning me 500 Discovery points, a number which seems incorrect, as 300 is usually the max 😱; for a later walk to the Camps Bay Tidal Pool, only one couple picnicking on the lawn, so happy to see ‘my’ stream so clean; for Kfm broadcasting road closures news which I sent to the DJ when traffic was closed between Camps Bay and Hout Bay due to another Bakoven fire, with a huge thanks to the fire services for getting it under control; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
