Sunday 10 May 2020, Mother’s Day, Day 10 of Level 4, after 35 days at Level 5 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for another beautiful sunny day after a very foggy start; that I could still go out to exercise despite the fog, choosing to walk in the opposite direction to normal, as far as the Food Truck parking spot, and then up and down the lanes in Bakoven, deserted, making it very pleasant to walk here, and doing 45 minutes of Cardio (200 Discovery points ❤️); for a Mother’s Day message from my Alex at 4h00 this morning already; for the delivery of a Mother’s Day treat from Food by Kai, including delectable eclairs and more, delivered to my door, being a member of the Restaurant Food Delivery Group (pic below) 👏; for lovely phone calls with Shaun Terry, Stuart Bailey, and from German swallow Gabi Vocke; for enjoying my playlist on a Sunday, not liking the DJ who spends most of the day on a Sunday in the Kfm studio; for hearing from Marlene Du Plessis-Zoetl and that she is finally home again; for a lovely sun snooze on the terrace; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
I woke up at 6h00 this morning, in total fear, reflected in my climbing Resting Heart Rate. I’m not sure what brought this on, as on the surface I’m not complaining about Lockdown at all. I think it was the prediction of our province going back to Level 5 that got to me. 🥵
Leaving home in the thick fog made me think of my first Camino, and the last day especially, when we had to get up early, to make the special service in the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, almost in the dark. I followed two lady walkers heading in the same direction, and thought how brave I was to walk all the way to the Twelve Apostles Hotel, all alone, when I practiced for my Caminos in the last two years. Ashleigh Fleming ran past me, and I had a long chat about the future of Tourism with Claus Tworeck, head of the Hop On Hop Off bus company, also living in Camps Bay, and whom I hadn’t seen in ages. So weird to see cyclists with lights on their bicycles, a rare sight.
Shaun and I are planning a new service for the Restaurant Food Delivery Group. 🍷. We have just exceeded the 3000 member mark. I’ve started approving posts as we are seeing spam rear its ugly head. And I learnt how to share to a Group today 😱. Thank you Darren Combrink and Brandon Platt 💙💙

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, and lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
