Monday 7 February 2022, Day 130 of Level 1 😷

Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for surviving the day on 3,5 hours of sleep, wide awake for 2 hours after watching ‘The Tinder Swindler’, memories coming about how I nearly was swindled on Tinder 😱😡; for a day of work, work, work; for Henry finding my sliding door lock key in the most unusual place; for our garage door working perfectly today, Henry now being back at work after his leave and exams; for a chat with Stuart Bailey, needing some advice; Continue reading →

Monday 4 May 2020, Day 4 of SA Lockdown Level 4, after 35 days of Lockdown Level 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for keeping fit even more than I have already done in Level 5, in being allowed out of the house from 6h00 – 9h00, from 7h30 being more my time; for not having been age-discriminated against in terms of exercising ❤️; for the City of Cape Town Solid Waste Department being friendly when collecting our garbage this morning, although they did ask for donations…. ; for being able to go for a shopping walk, both the pharmacy and Woolies having found items I had requested; for being kept busy with the Take-Away Food Delivery list all morning, getting to 220 restaurants on the list, and delighted that many restaurants have done so well this weekend; for such a beautiful sunny day, despite a chill in the morning (13 C when I went to exercise) and a bite in the air now; for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a fabulous hot sunny day, at 29 C; for being able to walk to the shops, seeing the Egyptian Geese babies having a swim in the stream at the Tidal Pool, loving not being disturbed by picnickers, I’m sure; for completing the paperwork for Discovery Insure for my car, my saving being R1300 per month from May, the most patient I have ever been with a Call Centre call, taking over an hour; for good service again from Woolies, having found maize kernels for essential popcorn 🍿 for me; for the Vit D intake on the terrace this afternoon; for long calls with Jenny Stephens and Stuart Bailey; for a visit by KitKat aka Charlie 🐱; for dancing to Kfm 💃; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Seeff Atlantic Seaboard invests in Camps Bay, sponsors beach clean-up by Straatwerk!

On 2 January of this year I adopted a stream near the Camps Bay Tidal Pool, having seen it clogged up with plastic and other rubbish left by picnickers on the infamous New Year’s Day. Since then I visit the stream every day, to clean it up, removing all the rubbish from it. A week ago Straatwerk workers assisted me in removing all the water weeds that had grown in the stream, and the rubbish that was trapped underneath the plants, returning the stream into its beautiful former self, an asset for Camps Bay and other Capetonians.  Continue reading →
