Sunday 23 August 2020, Day 6 of Level 2, Day 150 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a laidback day, doing a lot of Social Media catching up from the comfort of my bed this morning 😱; for a sunny day, even though not as warm as yesterday and the day before, because of a light cloud cover; for a walk to Fourth Beach Clifton, happy that there was minimal litter today and no torn garbage bags; for a spoil from the Maison J staff when I walked past, offering me some cinnamon doughnuts to take home, to be shared tomorrow; for another day in this fabulous spoiling week; for a lovely milestone birthday celebration dinner for Katie Friedman at Pilcrow & Cleaver, Chef Judi Fourie being hands-on in looking after us for our Sit-Down dinner; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Saturday 9 May 2020, Day 9 of Level 4, after 35 days at Level 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another spectacular 24C day, how lucky we are, and how good for one’s soul and spirit; for going to exercise earlier, and therefore walking further, up to First Beach in Clifton, quickly getting to 10000 steps by the time I returned home; for having a relaxed day after the energetic start to the day; for spoiling myself with a pizza delivery from Col’Cacchio Camps Bay, superbly executed hygiene and ordering wise; loving the Vit D sun therapy on my terrace; for yet another lovely sunset; and for feeling happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Sunday 26 April, Day 42 of SA Corona Virus, Day 31 of SA Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another warm, even humid, day, feeling warmer than the 22 C forecast, sweating while I dance/walk to Kfm; for feeling very energetic today, in writing an unplanned BIogpost, and creating a new Facebook page; for Petra Renate Quinlan agreeing to make some cloth masks for me from some leftover scarves, which are compulsory from Friday; for good old-fashioned calls with friends; for a friendly Bay Response Officer Saliem stopping outside our block and asking if I am alright when I was dancing on the terrace; and for feeling happy and healthy 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Virus: South Africa sends medical equipment to Cuba, 200 Cuban doctors arrive in our country!

In the media briefing on Saturday we were told by Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma that a team of Cuban doctors was on its way to our country, due to land here today. She declined to reply to a question as to how many medical professionals were due to arrive. A friend living in Havana sent me an article confirming this information, with the figure of 200 health professionals mentioned. Surprising was to read that our country sent a plane load of medical materials to Havana last week, including infra-red thermometers, gloves, masks, and hospital bed covers. The gift to Cuba was described as ‘… not a donation, but a modest gesture of brotherhood.…’! Continue reading →
