Saturday 9 May 2020, Day 9 of Level 4, after 35 days at Level 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another spectacular 24C day, how lucky we are, and how good for one’s soul and spirit; for going to exercise earlier, and therefore walking further, up to First Beach in Clifton, quickly getting to 10000 steps by the time I returned home; for having a relaxed day after the energetic start to the day; for spoiling myself with a pizza delivery from Col’Cacchio Camps Bay, superbly executed hygiene and ordering wise; loving the Vit D sun therapy on my terrace; for yet another lovely sunset; and for feeling happy and healthy. 🙏💙

There were hordes of cyclists on the road today, with fewer walkers, especially in Camps Bay. More walkers in Clifton. And lots more litter in Clifton too. A huge congregation of Exercisers on the opposite side of the road to Vida e Caffe, a social reunion of locals.

I spent the morning adding more restaurants to the Food Delivery List. I have been lusting after pizza since I started this project, not having eaten it in three years. Col’Cacchio reopened in Camps Bay today, so I ordered a Margherita and added my own Avo After to it, always been my favorite. Of course far too much for me to eat alone, so having the other half for supper. Impressive hygiene protocol: the driver arrived with a bottle of sanitizer, which I declined the use of. He opened his delivery bag, and I was asked to remove the pizza box, and put the money inside it. So easy. And on the dot punctual. 👏 🍕

I did some cleaning in the block today, mopping the steps, to get rid of the sticky oily liquid which the Argentinians managed to get on there from their terrace above. 🥵

Alain from Havana write today. Theyveeen to be worse off than we are (Google Translated from Spanish):

It is good that everything is fine and improving and very busy, it is very good.
I was also walking after the 1 hour exercises, but the police went yesterday to the place where everyone here goes to run or walk and what They prohibited, I will only be able to do the exercises, at least it is something in which I linger for a while and leave the house.
Three days ago since we have fewer confirmed cases in the country with the
virus, it seems that it has started to improve, but it is still missing a bit.
In my house everything is fine, we are all in good health which is the most important thing.
The situation with food and others is still very bad, the few things
I can almost always buy them on the street at a price older, because here where I live there are very few places to go shopping
things for the house and there are many people living and the lines for are
endless’.

I smell a Braai in the neighborhood…. drool 😱

I go to bed earlier and earlier, making it easier to get up early for morning Exercise Time. But still some dancing lying ahead 💃

SA Corona Status 9420 cases 186 deaths 😷😥

FitBit 17000 steps 12 km 👣

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, and lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
