Two MasterChicks tackle a Chick…en Ballotine, live-streamed with Chef Jenny Morris, iCook, and Live-Cook Channel!

Cooking shows have become even more popular during Lockdown. Earlier on in Lockdown I was invited to participate in a Cooking Show, which was guided by Chef Luke Dale Roberts, with Chef Pete Goffe-Wood as the MC, in which we prepared Beef Wellington. I invited my dear friend Jenny Stephens to join me in preparing it, especially as we both grew up in Wellington, and because she has learnt so much from the many  MasterChef Australia episodes she has watched during Lockdown. It was a great evening, and we were very proud of our cooking capabilities, especially as both of us Singles cook infrequently.

Last Thursday I invited MasterChick Jenny again, to assist me in preparing Chicken Ballotine, guided via Livestream on Live-Cook Channel by Yumcious Restaurant owner and Chef Jenny Morris. I had been invited to participate by Kim Crowie, Editor of Film & Event Media. My good friend Stuart Bailey joined us for moral support, and poured the wine during our dinner. Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for my warm bed on this very cold evening, and having my cat kids on the bed with me; for the sunshine day, making the 13C day feel warm in the sun when I went for a combined walk in Bakoven and Camps Bay, saying hi to the Bootlegger manager, with a catch up chat; for a day of laughter and eating with Jennifer Morris and her David, at Peppertree Café this morning and at Mozambik this evening; for such beautiful quietness in my building 🙏; for being calm and relaxed; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Thursday 13 August 2020, Day 74 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful that I got enough sleep, after late Instagramming of my day yesterday, and then waking up at about 5h00, when Jennifer Morris was awake too, and we got into an amazing brainstorm; for being able to get some more sleep, yet having enough time to write my story about dinner at Mozambik last night, a first-time visit for me; for a beautiful sunny day at 17C; for getting the double charge to my credit card back from the DipnDip owner Zakir; for a lovely walk in Camps Bay, seeing Martin Myers at Mynt Café; for a second walk through Bakoven; for dancing the rest of my steps to Kfm’s ‘Wanneer Laas’; for sorting out some problems in the apartment building, as Henry was off sick today; for the litter in Camps Bay being under control; for a short bout of Vit D on the terrace; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Mozambik Restaurant brings Afro-Porto cuisine to the Waterfront in Cape Town, Peri-Peri good food and service!

Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of enjoying Portuguese-style food at Mozambik, a restaurant in the Waterfront which opened about a year ago to great acclaim by locals. Its website describes its cuisine as ‘Afro-Porto’, reflecting the Portuguese origin of Mozambique, a country discover by Vasco de Gama in 1748, and which sits to the east of South Africa, renowned for its seafood, and peri-peri hot sauces served with its chicken dishes in particular. We had a fabulous evening and loved the hospitality, the good food, and excellent value for money which Mozambik offers. Continue reading →
