Sunday 16 August 2020, Day 77 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for my warm bed on this very cold evening, and having my cat kids on the bed with me; for the sunshine day, making the 13C day feel warm in the sun when I went for a combined walk in Bakoven and Camps Bay, saying hi to the Bootlegger manager, with a catch up chat; for a day of laughter and eating with Jennifer Morris and her David, at Peppertree Café this morning and at Mozambik this evening; for such beautiful quietness in my building 🙏; for being calm and relaxed; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
I did an 8 hour sleep last night, a good catch up. I’m still trying to persevere with Amazon, looking at other alternatives. One alternative is for an English language job, and was easy as pie to apply for.
Jenny, David and I met at Peppertree Café for a brainstorm session. Owner Bernard Munnik wanted a pic of us, and spoilt us with good service. So happy that you love going there too Gary Peterson.
Camps Bay and Bakoven looked good today, with very little litter to pick up. 🙏 Tiger’s Milk was the busiest of all restaurants this afternoon. The 41 Restaurant will reopen for the first time on 4 September, it has announced.
On my way to the Waterfront, I stopped at the cannons on top of Camps Bay Drive, which I found to be in excellent condition, but its plaque has also been removed. I’ve reported this to Councillor Nicola Jowell.
I did a quick walk around the Waterfront, whilst waiting for Jenny and David, and was blessed with a rainbow. So lovely to see Table Mountain from there. The Table Bay Hotel is still closed, only likely to reopen next month.
Jenny wanted me to try dishes of my own choice at Mozambik, after having had dinner there on Wednesday evening. So I ordered calamari tubes in butter sauce, a quarter BBQ chicken, and a tiny delicious chocolate fondant to warm me up, as it is extremely cold tonight. It was a lovely dinner, getting to know Jenny and David even better, despite knowing each other for ages. #thankyou ❤️❤️❤️ I gifted Mozambik owner and franchisee Christa Deacon a bottle of ADHARA extra virgin olive oil from Fraaigelegen Farm in Tulbagh, on behalf of the Mayer Family.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
