TANG Waterfront opens in Cape Town with a glamour bang!

TANG Waterfront opened in Cape Town on Thursday, about a year and a half after the opening of TANG Sandton, with a premier grand event which included dancing to Grammy Award winning DJ Black Coffee and a Chinese dragon ensemble.

TANG describes itself as an Asian Luxury Restaurant and Bar, and is owned by Nicky van der Walt, a former Capetonian who now lives in Johannesburg. The restaurant name stems from the Tang dynasty which ruled China from 618 to 907. Continue reading →

Thursday 24 March 2022, Day 175 of Level 1 😷

Corona Lockdown Gratitude šŸ™

#grateful for a slightly scary day turning into a fabulous day, getting better as the day progressed; for preparing Status Reports for Utopia and Anatoli, but not being able to print them as my right hand could not get to work today, getting it done at Wizardz in the Waterfront ; for getting an implant tooth replaced, made by my dentist with his high-tech 3D machine, being able to smile again šŸ’™; for short and sweet Status meetings; for deciding to have a belated breakfast at Labotessa Hotel & CafĆ© Continue reading →

Corona Lockdown Gratitude šŸ™

#grateful for a Wednesday with a difference; for feeling right as rain again this morning, getting a little more sleep than in the past week; for rain this morning; for getting my work done calmly and efficiently, despite a little explosion Camps Bay related; for the excellent news that Rhode Snyman our very non-efficient ā€˜Chairman’ of EbbTide is selling her apartment – hallelujah – illegally having a For Sale sign erected on Body Corporate property; for preparing for the status meetings this morning; for bravely sticking my neck out in asking Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis on Facebook why no Continue reading →

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 146 of Level 1, 23 February 2022

Wednesday 23 February 2022, Day 146 of Level 1 😷

Corona Lockdown Gratitude šŸ™

#grateful for a beautiful 26C day; for writing a newsletter and preparing for Client Status meetings this morning; for seeing my ophthalmologist at lunchtime, for a check up, and to receive a prescription for new specs for driving; for popping in at Discovery Sea Point a third time in one week, getting one of my three questions answered šŸ™šŸ˜±; for a day of numeric achievement, reaching 1000 followers for newkings boutique hotel, 2000 for Zest, and 2000 followers for my own account, celebrating with cupcakes in our meeting; for a quick shop at Woolies; for posting for clients this afternoon; for a Camps Bay sunset walk; for a call to my German Tourist Guiding client, about to fly to Cape Town, arranging where to meet tomorrow; for two Discovery Gameboard plays today, not having had two plays a week in a month 😱; and for being happy, healthy and free. šŸ™šŸ’™

To get a Discovery discount for my prescription specs, I have to go to Mellins, which have branches everywhere except in the city centre and Atlantic Seaboard. Claremont will be the closest branch to me. One cannot call a branch directly, all calls leading to a call centre! One has to wait for them to call you. Tomorrow I’ll compare the costs of having the specs made by my usual optometrist in Sea Point and the Discovery-discounted Mellins optometrist in Claremont. 😱

Zest regulars will be happy to hear that waitress Josie Milner is back again.
