Sunday 2 August 2020, Day 63 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful 23C day, another sunny beach day in Camps Bay, the traffic snaking through from the Hout Bay side; for a morning coffee/tea and croissant meet with Lynne Gordon at Maison J, sitting in the sun across the road, and for meeting her friend Tourist Guide and Uber driver Brandon Platt, whom I had wanted to meet, only knowing him from Facebook; for two further Camps Bay walks, one a shopping one, mainly for cat food, and because I forgot the packet at Absolute Pets from talking too much, I had to go back again to fetch it, an easy way to gain more steps; for a peaceful rest at my favorite Bench at the Tidal Pool; for the Beethoven concert from Beethoven House in Bonn by Daniel Hope of Hope@Home on Tour, his very last one of 70 he has done during Lockdown, an amazing treat; for my Alex helping me to get my CV finalized, the first I’ve written in 30 years 😱; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Saturday 25 July 2020, Day 55 of Level 3, after 66 days at Levels 5 and 4. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a sunny day, cooler at 18C, getting ready for rain tonight, with clouds moving in now; for having Joel to help me clean up Camps Bay, the two of us doing a deep clean; for bumping into David Smith twice in 24 hours, he teaching a German to SUP on the Tidal Pool, not having seen each other in about 10 years, last in my Camps Bay guest house days; for bumping into Lynne Gordon and Linda Gawronsky at the Tidal Pool again, and taking a pic of them with the SUPers in the background; for a short sun snooze on the terrace; for a trip back to town, putting in petrol proactively and fetching a slice of the Peppertree Café Lemon Chiffon cake, they not having it yesterday, and baking it especially, because I love it so much 🙏,; for enjoying a bottle of Durban Poison beer, just having a sudden craving for a beer, not drinking it often; for listening to Hope@Home on Tour, with beautiful baroque music by Concerto Melante from Potsdam; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Sunday 19 July 2020, Day 49 of Level 3, after 66 days of a level 5 and 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a summer day at 21C, everyone happy, with a spring in their step, and Camps Bay experiencing a second boom day, just like a normal weekend summer day, with a traffic jam since midday, and still continuing, and our first picnickers visiting our suburb, feeling a lot like pre-Lockdown days; for minimal litter on my walk to Clifton, enjoying this walk, not having been here for more than a week; for a second shorter walk to Woolies, always happy to spot a bargain, seeming to become cheaper than our Pick n Pay; for a long sleep last night and the indulgence of a lovely snooze on the terrace, digesting Vit D; for my cute Minsky playing carguard from her perch on the terrace, as the cars inch through Camps Bay; for quick service from Camps Bay CSI; for another lovely concert by Daniel Hope of Hope@Home performed with the Slovenian Signum Saxophone Quartet in Bonn this evening; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the Blessing of this beautiful 24C ‘summer’ day, with a light breeze, being able to wear a summer dress; for our flat calm ocean after it being so wild and angry earlier this week; for meeting dear friend Jenny Stephens here for a walk and then spoilt with a coffee/tea and a croissant 🥐 at Maison J; for a flood of amazing messages received on Facebook about the Camps Bay clean-up yesterday, very humbling how it is appreciated; for meeting Facebook Friend Lynne Gordon near the Tidal Pool, singing my photography praises to her friend Linda Gawronsky, asking me to photograph them in the Tidal Pool, and promising a meet up, she saying that we are both optimists; for heaps of praise from a fellow walker, who said she knew it was I who created the transformation in Camps Bay yesterday after the storm; for having so much to be grateful for, with the company of my gorgeous Minsky, so at home here, and to be able to live in this fabulous Camps Bay; for bumping into a German family on my walk which I used to see at classical music concerts, what an amazing reunion ❤️, the cherry on my day; for an efficient and friendly shop at our Woolies; for Loadshedding having disappeared as quickly as it arrived; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
