Saturday 11 July 2020, Day 41 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 5 and 4. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a mostly sunny day, after the two days of heavy rain, with some cloud about, with lots of 💙-clouds; for a deep and long sleep, my resting heart rate having dropped to its lowest since I obtained a FitBit, at 55 beats per minute; for Minsky coming back home eventually three times today, clearly being excited about being outside in the sun again and chasing birds, after two days of mostly being inside, not without some heart palpitations for me, when she stayed away so long; for a lovely sunny Camps Bay walk, fetching some Maison J croissants which they had kept for me, and buying another ‘lily’ type plant to fill one garden gap; for some Vit D on the terrace, it being so warm outside, Minsky lying on the lounger alongside mine, loving sleeping in the sun, after all her excitement this morning; for a Bakoven walk, watching a wild ocean; for another wonderful concert by Daniel Hope and his Hope @ Home on Tour, in Lübeck this evening, and for it being an extended concert with the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Friday 26 June 2020, Day 26 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 4 and 5. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a most fabulous day, everything just falling into place; for being so happy with my 🐱 family; for the rain and clouds clearing after rain overnight; for a busy work morning; for the most stunning rainbow 🌈 I saw on my way home, when it started raining, but the end result pic of it was so amazing that it did not matter at all that I got wet; for a good walk to Clifton Fourth Beach; for tea with Debbie, the owner of Sorbet Camps Bay, who showed me the new protocols in her shop; for having the most amazing luck with my photographs, the sunset ones earlier this week, and the Rainbow one today, posting them in Facebook Groups which are just about pretty pictures, not having known about them before, having massively high member numbers (in the 30000s) so it is not hard to get over 1000 likes for a photograph (In my next life I’m coming back as a photographer 😱); for boldly and professionally writing to Sandak-Lewin, our apartment block managing agents, documenting all the issues we have with our Portfolio Manager, a huge relief when I got this off my chest; for dancing 💃 to Kfm out of happiness this afternoon; for a lovely honest chat with Stuart Bailey; and for being very happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Wednesday 24 June 2020, Day 24 of Level 3, after 66 days of Levels 4 and 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another fabulous day, ahead of five winter days from tomorrow; for a good morning of writing; for a walk to Clifton Fourth Beach, with minimal litter to pick up; for chatting to David Raad, owner of Caprice about restaurants’ frustrations of not knowing the reopening date nor regulations, the topic of my Blogpost today, and he telling me that a coffee brand restaurant group has opened its doors to sit-down already, ignoring all regulations; for getting myself immersed in the Sectional Titles Act and the Body Corporate AGM, receiving some very good advice; for some dancing to exceed my step goal, in addition to a walk to the Tidal Pool for some sunset pics; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the little bit of rain we had early this morning, with more to come overnight and all of tomorrow; for having my helper Joel to assist me in cleaning up Camps Bay every second week; for Maison J keeping croissants for me until the end of my walk, and spoiling me with a bonus; for a very relaxed day, allowing myself a two hour sleep 😴 ; for my new FitBit Charge 4 working perfectly, being able to get my sleep time and heart beat readings again, the battery still almost fully charged, and reading at least 1000 steps more than Apple Health; for a visit by Thabied Harris to drop off a treat of Brewz Krew coffee and Bee Wild honey with a catch up chat; for a catch-up call from Shaun Terry; for listening to Hope @ Home on Tour, performing in the Richard Strauss Haus in Garmisch-Patenkirchen, the American Solist Thomas Hampson describing these incredible concerts as an ‘oasis of humanity’ 👏👏👏, so proud of organizer and violinist Daniel Hope, with his SA roots and now living in Berlin; for another concert coming up, L’Chaim, which includes Goldfish, how lucky are we….. ?; for my fourth week with Madame Minsky 🐱❤️; and for being healthy and happy 🙏💙 Continue reading →
