#grateful for a beautiful hot windfree 35C day, taking it easy and recharging; for a record 95 minutes of deep sleep 💙; for an early CAMPS BAY CLEAN Community Beach Clean with The 41 Restaurant, two participants from the Rapepayers Association, and the other 12 being learners at Camps Bay High, including two exchange students, one from Italy and another from Berlin; for a quick shop at Woolies; for driving to Edgemead, with little traffic, for a matric reunion of the Huguenot High Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a very relaxed day; for Minsky galavanter coming back safely this morning 😻; for cooler weather and the South Easter starting to blow, keeping the beachfront pretty empty; for a slow start to the day; for a power walk on my new Bakoven path, with very good Cardio, and hence earning 300 Discovery points; for getting to the Gardens Centre easily with little traffic, popping in at Hartlief and Tomes Chocolates, and then picking up balloons; for getting to Utopia on time to meet my Huguenot High Wellington Matric 1970 English classmates, to celebrate our 50th reunion with a late lunch/early dinner, a wonderful 4 hours spent together; for getting home safely; and for being happy and healthy.🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a fabulous day full of surprises and good news; for a warm sunny day, but changing late this afternoon, the rain clouds moving in fast and rain falling now ☔️; for a short writing day; for a cat requirement shopping at Pick n Pay; for a shopping trip to the Garden’s Centre, all smooth shopping at Hartlief, Pick n Pay, and Woolies; for a visit from Acting Judge Johnny Nortje and his friend Jacques, joined by German law students Kilian and Mareike, who chose to stay in Cape Town over Lockdown, bringing Linton too, feeling like a Tourist Guide when I showed them around Bakoven; for a great after-tour relax on the terrace with a bottle of Neil Ellis Groenekloof Sauvignon Blanc and Woolies Shiraz wines, even dancing on my terrace 💃🕺, oh what fun, not experienced in a long time; for good Hermanus news; for Henry managing to get my pool full-up with the rim-flow water, which was starting to overflow; for the veg garden now having carrots added; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Friday 19 June 2020, Day 19 of Level 3, after 66 days at Levels 4 and 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful summer day, the berg wind giving it away that rain is on the way for the weekend; for finishing an unplanned but hot story last night, which gave me some extra snoozing time this morning; for seeing my dearest friend Stuart Bailey for the first time in 85 days, driving to Stellenbosch together for a meeting, with a long catch-up time, even though we chat on the phone regularly; for receiving a message from Sportsman’s Warehouse that my repaired FitBit was ready for collection, at no charge; to buy beautiful cheeses and preserves at Dalewood Fromage on our way home, the first time in more than three months❤️❤️❤️; for collecting my favorite of favorite Tiramisu dessert treat from Janse at Home at Janse & Co…. mmmmm; for finding three multipacks of Smarties outside my door when I got home, sent to me by Charlotte from Knysna by Woolworths ❤️❤️❤️; for having time for a quick walk when I got home, with the most magnificent sunset; for dancing the rest of my steps of the day; and for feeling happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
