Friday 19 June 2020, Day 19 of Level 3, after 66 days at Levels 4 and 5 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for another beautiful summer day, the berg wind giving it away that rain is on the way for the weekend; for finishing an unplanned but hot story last night, which gave me some extra snoozing time this morning; for seeing my dearest friend Stuart Bailey for the first time in 85 days, driving to Stellenbosch together for a meeting, with a long catch-up time, even though we chat on the phone regularly; for receiving a message from Sportsman’s Warehouse that my repaired FitBit was ready for collection, at no charge; to buy beautiful cheeses and preserves at Dalewood Fromage on our way home, the first time in more than three months❤️❤️❤️; for collecting my favorite of favorite Tiramisu dessert treat from Janse at Home at Janse & Co…. mmmmm; for finding three multipacks of Smarties outside my door when I got home, sent to me by Charlotte from Knysna by Woolworths ❤️❤️❤️; for having time for a quick walk when I got home, with the most magnificent sunset; for dancing the rest of my steps of the day; and for feeling happy and healthy. 🙏💙
This morning we had a Trustees explosion, I not taking any nonsense from the three Trustees not living here, one of them particularly harassing me and our Building Manager.
My Blogpost today was about the Government information service Tweet on Wednesday indicating that restaurant diners will be prohibited from consuming alcohol in restaurants, bars, shebeens, and taverns, causing an uproar! 😡
Stuart and I met at his apartment, where I left my car, and we dropped off a copy of my SwitchBitch Book 3 for Eva Meklis Mazza at Gino’s, as a thank you for her kindness in gifting me a Goldfish ticket at Kirstenbosch, before heading to Neil Ellis Wines on the Helshoogte Pass. We had a good meeting over lunch. Neil and I were in the same class at Huguenot High School, none of us having an inkling that he would become a renowned wine maker one day. 🍷🍷🍷
Stuart indulged my request to drive back via the N1, so that we could pop in at the Dalewood Fromage farm shop. They make the best Brie and Huguenot, as well as a variety of preserves. And such lovely service. 🙏
At Janse & Co I was shown by Chef Liezl how to finish off the presentation of my Tiramisu dessert, and I loved the container in which they were presented, surviving the journey home in perfect condition. Mmmmmmmm ❤️❤️❤️ How delicious does this sound: mascarpone, coffee and brandy syrup, ladyfinger biscuits, 70% Chocolate Cremeaux, and coffee cookie crumbs. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was intrigued about my FitBit Charge 3. I was told that I could choose a replacement one, so I chose the Charge 4 upgrade at no charge, even though I had bought my Charge 3 over a year ago. 👏👏👏👏 to FitBit. Steven at Sportsmans Warehouse set it up for me, while I had to download the latest version of the Tracker to my App at home, easy peasy. What a fabulous surprise. 👏👏👏💙💙💙💙
There was a disruption on my walk when I saw 20 or so homeless persons queuing at a black Porsche with a GP plate, the owner handing out cash to one of them, causing great dissension amongst the group. Bizarre. 😱😡
Minsky was happy to see me arrive back, and was allowed outside. She is so well behaved now, coming back inside within a reasonable time. 🐱

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
