In a major change, Eat Out 2022 Head Judge Abigail Donnelly has announced her four fellow judges on the panel evaluating our country’s Top restaurants for the November 2022 Eat Out Awards.
The Eat Out Awards will be hosted for the first time in two years. No date or venue details are available to date.
Another new introduction is that the top restaurants will be rated and no longer ranked! The industry’s ‘unsung heroes’ will be recognised too.

Tomorrow Anatoli Mediterranean Restaurant launches its brand new Vegan Tasting Menu, three courses costing R195. Each course offers a choice of dishes. One would not necessarily associate Mediterranean foods with Veganism, but creative Anatoli Chef Jacques du Toit has designed a tasty and aromatic Tasting Menu suiting Vegans and Vegetarians, containing no animal-derived products, and being purely plant-based.
Firefly Café is a most unusual Café in Camps Bay, which opened in September. Expecting a coffee shop from the initial description, it opened with a tiny open -plan kitchen, serving largely dishes with air-fried chips, with coffees and teas too. I have visited the restaurant regularly, and have only two dishes which I would order there.
