Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for my quietest day in the 52 days of Lockdown; for an energetic walk beyond Bakoven this morning, the Camps Bay Promenade being too full on weekend mornings; for Victoria Road in Bakoven having minimal dog poo; for a catch-up day back in bed for most of the day after the walk, catching up on the writing of others, and even a snooze, there being a slight nippiness in the air; for a shopping walk to refresh myself outside; for being rescued by PPA on my way home; for THE most amazing sunset tonight, listeners challenged by Kfm to send a pic, mine getting two special mentions, for 300 Discovery’s for my heart exertion rate for over an hour this morning; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Twelve Apostles Hotel Sweet Service Award; The Vineyard Hotel Sour Service Award!

The Sweet Service Award goes to the Twelve Apostles Hotel, and its F & B Manager Hilton Ruch. On my way home from dancing at Constantia Nek recently, I stopped by at their CafĂ© for a dry cappuccino. Not expecting Hilton to be at work after 22h00, I asked one of the staff to pass on my regards to him. She told me he was still at work, and called him. He chatted, and told me about their new Vegan High Tea, a first in Cape Town it would seem, as well as other news. The dry cappuccino was perfectly made, and they have marshmallows too, a weakness. When I requested the bill, I was told that Hilton had taken care of it,
