Saturday 7 August 2021, Day 12 of Level 3 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a slow start to the day, building up in speed and action, with a lovely spontaneous ending; for a peaceful morning working and a second snooze; for a shopping walk to Woolies; for a tea visit by Hans-Werner Klein and Rose Klein, just warm enough to sit outside, it being misty all day; for the sad yet happy memorial service for David Morris on Zoom, my first such experience; for taking photographs of Eden Smith, the prize winner of a Utopia giveaway done in conjunction with Continue reading →

#Gratitude for surviving a Manic Monday, the busiest in many years; for Loadshedding giving me a 2 hour focused gap to read the Sectional Title Act, and about the Maintenance & Repair Reserve Fund as well as Special Levies, in preparation for a meeting tomorrow; for a midday walk to Camps Bay, to gift my favorite car guard Lewis the pair of socks I received from the Western Cape Blood Service; for a lovely sunny day at 19C, enjoying walking in a sleeveless top and shorts; for being up to date with my work; for a quick chat with Stuart Bailey; for a Camps Bay & Clifton Ratepayers Association meeting on Zoom; for a late meeting with builders who I’ve asked to quote, at 20% of the R1 million alternative; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Monday 19 April 2021, Day 50 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for the fire having burnt itself out, and for the hard work done by firefighters as well as persons who have helped accommodate UCT students, and who collected and donated supplies for the firefighters, pets, and students❤️; for a fabulous continuous 7 hour sleep; for a fire starting at a homeless structure at Maidens Cove this morning being extinguished very quickly ❤️ ; for getting my writing work done smoothly; for a shopping walk to Pick n Pay and Woolies; for a much cooler day at 21C, and very windy, not good for the firefighting; for a second power walk, having to fit it in before a meeting, choosing two sets of steps, each with 100 steps, one uphill and another downhill, protected against the wind on the paths, but almost blown over on Camps Bay Drive, connecting the two paths, gaining 300 Discovery points; for a productive Camps Bay Ratepayers Association Committee Zoom meeting; for the good service from Charlene Shapiro of CNC Products, dropping off an ordered bulk pack of mini Smarties 💙❤️, and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 22 of Level 3 Adjusted, 18 January 2021.

Monday 18 January 2021, Day 22 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 299 of Lockdown. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a beautiful day at 28C without a breath of wind; for a very busy working day despite very little sleep; for putting up a good defence against the extreme rudeness and discrimination against Henry by one of our Trustees, who manipulated herself into becoming our so-called Chairman when I was overseas, the lack of sleep probably helping me in what I had to say to her; for the excitement of running a competition for HQ Utopia with Dineplan and InstaEats, the latter with 44000 odd Followers, entries flowing in like crazy, with hundreds of new Followers for us on our first day, carrying on until Friday, being on my Instagram all day; for a Zoom meeting of our Camps Bay Ratepayers Association this afternoon; for a very late walk to Camps Bay, with little litter to pick up and still only a 10% mask wearing 😷🥵; for being able to type this during Lockdown; for a wow 500 Discovery points for my brisk Camps Bay walk, with an excellent heart rate; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
