Saturday 25 December 2021, Christmas Day 🎄⭐️, Day 86 of Level 1 😷
Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏
#grateful for a lovely Christmas Day, after a quiet Christmas Eve at home last night; for posting Christmas messages for each of my clients; for sharing the Christmas joy with the diners at Utopia, taking photographs of the full house today, with a lovely special Christmas Menu served, and for being invited to share the table with Maki Chase, her husband Steve Chase and Maki’s children, so kind and generous, served an egg nog (made with Amarula, rum, and Crème anglaise…. Mmmmmm) which the guests had received as a welcome drink, and for being able to buy a main course portion of turkey to take home to eat now, a speciality of mine, but I wasn’t going to cook one for Dinner for One; for meeting Melany Jordan in the lift going up, who knew me from my Blog and my Utopia posts, her 18 year old son having had Dr Zieff as his paeditrician, the father of my client Russell Zieff, while her husband’s company supplies fruit and vegetables to Utopia ; for getting home easily via the Camps Bay backroads, it having been chock a block busy here today, with more to come tomorrow 😱; for a walk through Bakoven (with a chat to George Sax, who drove past and stopped for a chat; for a walk to the Tidal Pool, new picnickers arriving at 19h30 😱; for Gift filling 15 bags of litter this afternoon, looking exhausted after 4,5 hours of litter cleaning; for finding one of my earrings which I lost last night; for a 30 C day with only a light breeze now 😱; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙
On my Camps Bay walk I met a family from Joburg, and my Tourist Guiding side kicked in, recommending the best beaches to go to swim. I had a moral dilemma about sharing with them the effect of the 21 hour power failure earlier this week on the effluent pumping in Bakoven, not being ideal to swim there. I was honest and they were horrified.😱

I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
